Mine is. Tried to open certain threads (bendable's "castle" and 6guns' "cross country drive"), and it instantly crashed. "Brave Browser has stopped working" then it closed. Tried again multiple times, and same thing happened. No problems opening them with Chrome? Tech guys, what is the problem here? Confused

Sounds like Brave ran out of memory to allocate. Or, more precisely, Brave asked the OS for a block of memory and was denied, then chose to quit rather than try another strategy.

Q,
I've had that happen before simply close it and reopen it clears all the nonsense it has in memory from earlier opened sites.

I've had that happen to me starting just this last week. I've tried restarting it but it just crashed again. Even shutting down the computer didn't seem to help. Having said all that, I just logged on here and am using Brave. Let's see what happens.

Your windows task manager will show all the crap Brave leaves in its wake. Again closing and reopening the browser clears the garbage.
At least it works for me.

Well, shortly after I made that post above...Brave kicked me off. I did a google search and it seems there is a new update available that will fix the issue. Problem for me is that Brave does not support Windows 7 anymore. I need to keep using it as we have several older programs that are not supported in windows 10.

Using Brave as I type this so I guess we will have to see. Oh, I do not have this problem with Firefox.

I'm running macOS Sonoma 14.3.1 and recently received an alert stating that Brave was out of date. I attempted to update but got a message stating that it couldn't be updated. A radio button was at the bottom of the dialog box with a 'Reinstall Brave' option.

Clicking that, I ultimately ran into a box with an offer for a free trial of Brave Firewall + VPN. It reminded me of issues I had in the past with some Adobe stuff. Very annoying and frustrating.

Are you running a VPN? They will mess with you on occasion.

No, I'm not. The 'free trial' they're offering apparently bundles a VPN with Brave.

Worked fine for me on those threads and others.

I did update it the other day, the "UPDATE" item in the top menu corner popped up.

Other than that, situation is normal

Damn thing is still doing it. Closed, opened, clicked on thread, got shut down. Weird thing is, this happened on my laptop which has Windows 8. But Brave on my desktop, which has Windows 7, does not have this problem.

I'm running Brave Version 1.64.116 Chromium: 123.0.6312.105 (Official Build) (64-bit) in Windows 10 Home 64-bit, both current with updates.

Since my last there was a Win10 update and things are smooth again. I haven't a clue what caused the crapola craziness but thankfully I'm now being spared.
