I don't normally use an electric razor but when I do it's a Panasonic foil. No one's life, liberty or property is safe while the legislature is in session.- Mark Twain | |||

Started with double-edged razors back in the early 70's. I think Gillette Trac II came next. Then Norelco triple-head. Tried a good Remington foil about that time. Sold it and kept the Norelco. Then the battery died an early death. Back to Trac II. Then tried an inexpensive Remington triple-head. Sucked. More burn than shave. On to Gillette Mach 3. A couple years ago the Mach 3 started irritating the underside of my chin, no matter how I shaved. Posted here, asking the same question as the OP. Member sidss1 offered me an essentially brand new Braun Series 5 foil for free. Worked like a charm. (Thanks, again, Sid!) This spring, after two seasons, I replaced the cutter and foil. ("Season": I only shave from about mid-May through late October.) I hint about making the cleaning solution last a good long while: Pop the foil, dump the cuttings, give both foil and head a good rinse under warm tap water. Pop the foil back on, turn on the razor, run it under the tap again. This will remove most of the detritus and a goodly bit of the dirt/oil. Then pop it in the cleaning/charging station and run a cleaning cycle. A single cleaning cartridge lasts me an entire season, that way. "America is at that awkward stage.
