If true that's GOOD news for us in AZ as we are all full up with Californicators here! I lived in OR from 1957-1971 and in WA from 1971-2001. Since leaving they have both become Far North CA.
You got that right. I lived in Oregon from 1978 through 2022. When I heard that Tina Kotek was going to run for Governor in `22 I decided it was time for me to GTFO. I retired in October of `22 and moved here a month later.
Washington and Oregon are in a race to see who can be the first to out-California California. Washington is leading, but Oregon isn't far behind.

Here is a LINK to a California DTSC training from 2024 on waste characterization.
Ive been dealing with these kind of regulations for 37 years, so it makes sense to me (at least after I suspend reality because these laws start with the premise that a "solid waste" can be a liquid or a gas).
Check out the training materials. I'm curious how many non-environmental engineering/legal/scientists can make sense of this.
ETA: The training itself is accurate, as far as I can tell based on my knowledge of California's laws and regulations, but it is about one horrendously complex regulatory scheme.
Further, this is about waste characterization ONLY.
It does not address the other generator, transporter, or treatment, storage, or disposal facility construction, operation, or permitting requirements.
So here’s an interesting question: There’s the stupid safety warnings on everything now. From my TV to the paint on my walls: “This contains materials that have been known to cause cancer in the state of California”…
Does that count as “Hazardous Materials”? Because if it does, how much is THAT going to cost?!?!
Yes. And if it is subject to Prop 65, as the waste material it is mostly likely a toxicity characteristic hazardous waste.
My colleagues and I guesstimated the cost at $15B for the environmental cleanup and waste disposal alone and that only if the CA.gov backs off on the requirements and lets it be disposed of as non hazardous waste.

I haven’t read through this whole thread, so I don’t know if anyone else has mentioned this, but I see footage on the news of the neighborhoods that have been completely destroyed by the fires. One of those neighborhoods is Malibu, I guess it is, where the homes right along the PCH, literally on the beach, were burned to the ground. What are the odds, that, despite “climate change” and “rising sea levels”, these homes will be rebuilt in the exact same place? And you know the owners of these homes are hardcore lefties, for the most part, who buy the climate change nonsense.

After the Santa Rosa fire for years we had wealthy clients buying up lots and then getting construction loans to build new homes.

That's mighty green of them.
Way to reduce their "carbon footprint."
I'd rather take my chances with MODERN coal plants.
And if anyone can explain how you "store" 750 megawatts, I'm all ears. More bad reporting where the reporter doesn't know anything about the topic they are reporting on.
It's absolutely terrifying to enviro-naxis but we can use green rocks that glow blue to store that kind of energy.

Short of the Lithium fire the LA fires seem to have conveniently fallen off the news cycle.

Battery storage plant with 750 mw of capacity . You are " storing " that energy for use when needed . That's what batteries do .

What grabs us here in UK is the preponderance of reporting of this national tragedy focussing on the millonaires and their mega-buck former residences and little mention of the ordinary folks and THEIR life-changing events.
Our hearts go out to THEM, not to the bleating celebrities who can just go buy a new house any time they want.

While Maher hit the nail exactly on the head I’m not sure what to think of him. I’ve never seen his show. Has he changed?

He is a centrist and has never bought into the progressive left, the woke bullshit, or anything else the progressive/extreme left does. I definitely disagree with many things he speaks of, especially religion, but he is consistent. He’s been calling out the left for their bullshit for many years and continues to do so. I don’t think he’s changed much. At least there is someone on that side of the political aisle calling them out. He’s not afraid to piss them off and tell the truth.

Santa Ana winds return starting tomorrow.
Eaton is 81% contained.
Palisades is 51% contained.
There are tons for resources currently than on the 7-10th, but this is not over yet.

They arrested another firefighter imposter and his wife. Even had a fire truck with Roaring River FD on it. California plates but oddly enough they had Oregon IDs.
Oddly enough he served prison time for arson

I don’t agree with “he is a centrist,” I think he’s a liberal for sure. What he’s not is an extremist, the wing that has captured the Democrats for at least the last four years.
