I am reviewing once more the IG report on McCabe, and am trying to figure out the players. We believe, fairly confidently, that the “Special Counsel” to McCabe is Lisa Page, the texting mistress DOJ lawyer. Who was “PADAG?” Principal Associate Deputy Attorney General who had the telephone conversation with McCabe on August 12, 2016 about the investigation into the Clinton Foundation? The AG at the time was Loretta Lynch, the Deputy AG was Sally Yates. Luckily, I have enough willpower to control the driving ambition that rages within me. When you had the votes, we did things your way. Now, we have the votes and you will be doing things our way. This lesson in political reality from Lyndon B. Johnson "Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible." - Justice Janice Rogers Brown

The WSJ link is behind the subscriber wall. Can we get a clean one? The story on the 23rd would be great, too, if possible. Oh he gets his pension just not right away. He will begin collecting his pension in a few years. He won’t begin collecting it upon termination of employment. Don’t forget the Dem Senators willing to hire him so he will get paid up until he begins to collect his pension. The asshat needs to be charged with felonies like the rest of us would have if we lied under oath. ΜΟΛΩΝ ΛΑΒΕ

There must be some way to stop him from getting a pension! Treason, etc, etc etc should be enough to disqualify him. The OIG report on McCabe is brutal. It can be hard to follow because the situation was complicated and the report uses formal titles that aren't familiar with most people. Here is a summary of what I think the report says: The investigation of McCabe was initially opened by the FBI Inspection Division (INSD). In May 2017, FBI INSD opened an investigation to find the leak source of a 30 October 2016 WSJ article. That article appeared to be a leak of Andrew McCabe’s August 2016 private conversations with Matt Axelrod (who was then Principal Associate Deputy Attorney General – PADAG). So at the very start, McCabe was considered a victim of the leak. I wonder if this was part of what Jeff Sessions had described as the “27 leak investigations” that had been opened ? FBI INSD interviewed McCabe on 9 May 2017. McCabe said the WSJ article was accurate about his conversation with PADAG (Matt Axelrod). McCabe said he had “no idea where it came from” or “who the source was”. This was Lie #1. McCabe had actually directed Lisa Page and Mike Kortan of the FBI to feed the story to WSJ writer Devlin Barrett. Also on 9 May 2017, James Comey was fired, and McCabe became acting FBI Director. An eventful day. FBI INSD prepared a draft statement of the interview for McCabe to sign. It was sent by email to McCabe. This sounds like routine procedure for INSD. McCabe did not return a signed statement. 23 June 2017: INSD sent the draft statement again to McCabe for his signature. McCabe did not respond. These FBI inspection agents are now dealing with the very top leadership of the FBI – Andrew McCabe. 28 July 2017: DoJ IG (Horowitz team) interviewed McCabe about the 2016 election and the newly discovered text messages between Lisa Page (“Special Counsel”) and Peter Strzok (DAD). OIG was not yet aware of the FBI INSD interview w McCabe back on 9 May. During this 28 July 2017 interview: OIG: we’re not sure what CF relates to, perhaps Clinton Foundation. Do you happen to know ? McCabe: I don’t know what she’s referring to. OIG: perhaps a code name ? McCabe: Not one that I recall, but this thing is like right in the middle of the allegations about me, and so I don’t really want to get into discussing this article with you. OIG: Was she (Lisa Page) ever authorized to speak to reporters in this time period ? McCabe: Not that I’m aware of OIG showed McCabe texts from Lisa Page talking to WSJ Devlin Barrett. McCabe said he was out of town then and couldn’t say where she was or what she was doing. That is Lie #2 But there is a whole bunch of lies going on here. Very significant lies. Can you imagine FBI Dir Wray’s reaction when he read this report ? 1 August 2017: McCabe calls DoJ IG office to correct his statement he gave 4 days earlier. He says Lisa Page may have been authorized to work w Mike Kortan to speak w WSJ. 2 August 2017: Christopher Wray assumes office of FBI Director. 7 August 2017: FBI INSD interviewed Lisa Page about the 30 October 2016 WSJ article. These interviewers were not aware of the text messages. Lisa Page said she was the source of the leak to WSJ, and the disclosure was authorized by McCabe. Lisa Page signed the interview summary. She gave the same testimony to OIG in two subsequent interviews. 18 August 2017: FBI INSD re-interviewed McCabe. They asked McCabe again if he had authorized the disclosure regarding his Aug 2016 discussion with DoJ (PADAG). McCabe said “Yep, I did” “there was a lot going on at the time” At this point the FBI INSD felt it was no longer appropriate for GS14 FBI agents to investigate the Dep Director. INSD referred the matter to DoJ IG. OIG accepted the referral 31 Aug 2017. 29 November 2017: OIG interviewed McCabe again about the WSJ leak. McCabe was represented by counsel during the interview. The interview, by OIG practice, was audio recorded. In this interview, McCabe said he did authorize the disclosure to WSJ. McCabe said after the article came out, he told Comey that he had authorized the disclosure. McCabe said Comey “did not react negatively, just kind of accepted it”. McCabe also said other FBI executive managers knew generally that he had authorized the disclosure. McCabe also denied telling the FBI INSD that he had not authorized the disclosure. There is a whole slew of other shady things McCabe said in this interview. See report. Lie #3 Again w multiple lies lumped together Comey told OIG that in late October 2016, McCabe “definitely” did not tell him that he had authorized the WSJ disclosure. OIG concluded McCabe lied to Comey in late October 2016. Lie #4 Lots more in the report.

It’s astonishing to reflect that McCabe could imagine that he would come out of this untarnished. He was a Special Agent, at the FBI ~22 years, worked his way up the chain of command, certainly with training and experience in what must be the FBI agent’s most basic activity, most frequent task, detecting truth and falsity of witness statements, an imperfect art for sure, but not impossible and very often successful, especially when witnesses to the same event are all talking, separately, and critical details not only do not match but are mutually exclusive, and there are prior statements, oral, memo’s, texts, documents to compare. It’s almost child’s play with all that to work with. The penalties in his line of work are severe, and one must realize that the questions are not merely for the purpose of polite conversation. Luckily, I have enough willpower to control the driving ambition that rages within me. When you had the votes, we did things your way. Now, we have the votes and you will be doing things our way. I agree many of these people act as though they have immunity and I suppose had Horrible Hillary been elected this malfeasance would have never seen daylight. Given that the bureaucrats covered all those involved in the IRS scandals, I suppose this was a rational belief on their part. Actually they all might have reasonably expected promotions from Hillary.

From the Wash post yesterday https://www.washingtonpost.com...m_term=.4cd9904dfd9e "I can’t decide if Trump defenders are credulous or cynical. Do they honestly believe the official explanation for the firing of the FBI’s former deputy director, Andrew McCabe, or are they only pretending to believe it because they feel compelled to defend el jefe no matter what?" "So this is what Trump apologists want us to believe: that McCabe was fired completely on the merits and that the demands of the president to get rid of him had nothing to do with it. And if you believe that, you’re probably still convinced that the infamous meeting between the Trump campaign high command and a Russian lawyer was really about “adoptions.” Sure, Comey and McCabe made serious mistakes — but those mistakes were a pretext for Trump’s vendetta against the investigators who are hot on his trail." ****************** This WaPo piece is a pile of crap We live in a time when the truth is crushed by unrelenting massive propaganda. The U.S. today has news media as manipulated as any we have seen in third world dictatorships. Pretty scary. If we could solve one problem - get our news media to report the truth and condemn lies - most of our nation's problems would dramatically reduce.

....and the meeting between Clinton and Lynch was only about "grandchildren". Please. I agree, if our media told half the truth things would be alot different. Mainstream media today is the 100% propaganda arm of the leftist cause (a.k.a democratic party). Reporting like the above is another reason that real consequences need to be felt in the form of indictments. Until it becomes "real" everyone can claim partisanship and repeat their own fairy tale. It's harder to deny clear violations of the law when your "hero for the cause" is standing in court.

Even if these investigators were fired for being hot on his trail, why fire the inept dishonest ones? Why not fire the honest, effective ones whose reports are likely to be more trustworthy? And how has firing these two in disgrace diminished the investigations in any way? In fact, the firing of Comey led directly to the appointment of the Special Prosecutor. Any way one reads the report, McCabe had to be fired, or these rules and policies mean nothing. Maybe that’s the point. The rules aren't actually meant to be enforced. They are merely decorations to placate the sanctimonious, as worked so well with Lois Lerner and that lot. Comey had comported himself in such a peculiar and irregular manner that everyone called for him to be fired. Unanimity is awfully rare in DC. Think about those FBI INSD people. They interview McCabe on 9 May. He says he knows nothing of the leak. That same day he becomes acting FBI Director. Then the investigators interview Page. She says she leaked the info, and McCabe told her to do it. A chill must have gone down their spines.
