They are apparently cooperating, maybe in hopes of deflecting the hammer, or at least that it might not fall as hard.

The Special Counsel (Page) provided honest testimony, or at least credible, to the investigators. The term “Special Counsel” refers to Deputy Director’s in house lawyer, not to be confused with the Russian collusion probe Special Counsel Mueller.

Because that's what they charge many people with when they can't get the goods on them otherwise but want to be able to convict them of something.
The list of people they have sent to jail for that is long and they don't want to do that to one of their own.

"Lack of Candor under Oath". A specific violation FBI code of conduct. H elied both to he internal FBI investigators which got him referred to te OIG and then he lied to the OIG inspectors. He allegedly mislead Comey, though I seriously doubt that since they are peas in the same pod.

McCabe was a bad boy. Let's see him weasel out of this. Oh, if only Hilary had won . . . He would be sitting pretty. Bastard and his bastard buddy Comey.

I've been through the new IG report once.

General comment: very well written, very thorough, logical, and fact based.

If the full DoJ IG report is written like this one, we should hope it comes out very soon.

There were some reports that President Trump better watch out, because McCabe gave testimony to Mueller. After this, McCabe's testimony on anything would be highly suspect.

McCabe didn't just lie a little, he lied a lot. He tried to deceive the interviewers.

I don't know if this damning report on McCabe can be reflected on the Mueller investigation, but I hope it does.

*************

BTW, The 30 Oct 2016 WSJ article says that some sources identified McCabe as the FBI official who gave the "stand down" order on the Clinton Foundation investigation.

McCabe described himself as fighting DoJ to keep the CF investigation open.

*******************

I wonder how the people who gave $500k to the McCabe gofundme are reacting to the DoJ IG report ?

I read the Inspector General is Required to refer crimes to the DOJ.

quote:
When does the Inspector General refer an investigation for prosecution or civil action?

"The Inspector General is required by law to refer cases to the Department of Justice if reasonable grounds exist to believe that a violation of Federal criminal law has occurred, and has the discretion to refer a case that merits civil action."

https://www.nlrb.gov/who-we-ar...l/oig-investigations

Interesting this and comeys book appears to be a big nothing burger.

He’s a martyr. Took it for the team, the mission, the eventual triumph and domination of progressivism, world wide Communism, albeit a minor player.

Another in a long line of Friends of Bill and Hil whose lives have been ruined in the effort.

Some of us have been saying they are on the way for months and months. Seems like each and every day we move closer to that reality.

Patience. Let these guys dig themselves in nice and good just like McCabe.

saw this on CT. CT continues to demonstrate a high quality overall analysis of this bewildering morass of conspiracy. but at last it looks like we have some good guys on the playing field.

and a "well done" to the FBI Inspection Division

Horowitz needs to get the report out soon. It could have enormous impact on the 2018 elections and possibly on the Mueller "overturn the election" crusade.

The letter says the 2016 election related review will be in a report in May 2018.

It says another review is ongoing re DoJ/FBI compliance w FISC relating to a certain US person (Carter Page ?)

James Comey, 29 Jan 2018:

"Special Agent Andrew McCabe stood tall over the last 8 months, when small people were trying to tear down an institution we all depend on.

He served with distinction for two decades. I wish Andy well. I also wish continued strength for the rest of the FBI. America needs you."

This whole sordid mess with the FBI upper "management" (I use that term lightly) is a cluster...a bunch of self serving clowns that have been exposed for what they are. Thank God that the HilBot was not elected...they would be high-fiving each other and laughing at the American people while escaping any exposure...

A pox on all their houses!

Rosenstein noted that Comey was unwilling, or unable, to admit his error in handling the Clinton e-mail. Maybe that is a more or less constant element of his personality.
