They’ll just spoof the number to something other than an 800 number. I get a number of ripoff scam calls spoofed to show numbers from all over the country. Some geniuses even use MY phone number.  -------- After the game, the King and the pawn go into the same box. | |||

The 'Should I answer' app seems to work well. Another option to consider is to sign up for a (free) Google voice number, set it to forward to your mobile, and give the Google Voice number to businesses that require one. That limits who receives my mobile number and Google seems quite good at blocking robocalls. | |||
