On the fence on whether it makes sense to upgrade my USGI mags with Magpul followers and springs. Upgrade or just buy some new ones? New OKAY mags can be had for around $13 now. Thoughts?

Another alternative, 2 coworkers jumped on a PSA deal last week. 10 D&H aluminum mags with free shipping for $119.99
Not sure if that deal is still active.

They also had Magpuls with free shipping if you buy 5 or more.

My standard operating procedure is to buy more Okay mags as often as possible.

Years ago I used to upgrade some of my USGI mags. These days it does not make sense to me to do so when you can get such good quality new AR mags for 12$ - 15$.

Those AR OKAY SureFeed and SureFeed E2 are outstanding mags. The Palmetto State Armory Made by D&H are also well done.

If you're looking for new, Brownells has the following:

Magpul GEN M3, 10-pack, $131.99 before shipping, use code: PTT

https://www.brownells.com/maga...34-75487-120832.aspx

Lancer, 10-pack, $136.99 before shipping, use code TAG:

https://www.brownells.com/maga...95-95205-191815.aspx

Shipping appears to be $6.95 - flat rate?

I upgraded all my green and/or black follower mags with Magpul followers. I think it was worth the cost, probably $2 per mag back when I did it.

At least at this point 30 rounders are cheap and plentiful. I don’t see the sense in rebuilding or upgrading older magazines

Years ago when I lived in a ban state where you could only have pre 1984 mags, rebuilding what you had since you couldn’t get new ones made sense of course.

Ditto for me. I never bothered with the springs but I did a ton of follower swaps.
