As someone said above, I think-- seriously-- that he might be mentally ill. Maybe at some point all his corruption and treachery just made him snap. He has tweeted some truly weird shit, quoting scripture.

I think he's nuts.

I don’t see 2018 as good for James Comey, just too much drip-drip of evidence of malfeasance and corruption for him to weather. I don’t think Loretta Lynch fares well either.

I don't know if he's mentally ill, but if he was actual sincere in that New Years tweet of his, he is utterly delusional. Summer before last, the fate of this nation pivoted on his handling and the outrageous findings of the investigation of Hillary Clinton's crimes while Secretary of State.

If he actually believes that he represents to the people of this nation "ethical leadership, focused on the truth and lasting values", he may very well be nuts, but he's delusional, for sure.

For his sake, I hope it's just desperate posturing on his part. Otherwise, he's living on some planet other than Earth.

He's deeply in denial, or is delusional as already noted. I'm down for delusional at this point.

The depths of corruption the FBI sunk to under his management are troubling to say the least.

Sundance is brilliant, and this is such a good read on the first day of 2018, that here is the article linked above:

The Stunning Truth Proving The FBI and DOJ Corruption Will Come Out…

Posted on January 1, 2018 by sundance

There’s a lot of people worried the sheer scale and totality of the FBI and DOJ corruption will be buried by the Swamp scum. I’m not one of them. As a ninja level cynic who has spent so much time investigating the deep weeds of DC corruption, this time I can see a difference.

The Bigger media voices will eventually catch up to the story. Right now the scale of the story is so large, and the consequences so damaging to the Republic, they are scared to call it out… but that won’t last too much longer. Unless they are genuinely all paid political operatives of the UniParty, by the end of this month the sunlight will be so intense their worries about losing invites to the best cocktail parties will be overcome by the enormity of the truth.

When the righteous march past the praetorian guard media carrying pitchforks, feathers and buckets of brutally obvious truth; yes, even the ‘CONservative’ professional media guardians will have to admit they can’t defend the protected class from this one. Their own need for relevance will mean they’ll eventually admit, the baby is damn ugly.

If a little corner of the internet can lay out the raw data, and all of that data only points in one direction, yes, the total “they” (media, congress, and our President) all know this same stuff you have been reading. More importantly, as uncomfortable as admissions might be, they know it is real and they know what it means.

If we can put it together, so can they.

So too can Robert Mueller. He knows.

Special Counsel Robert Mueller knows how Peter Strzok, Lisa Page, Andrew Weissman, Jeannie Rhee, Aaron Zebley and all of the other participants got put on his team. He knows how, and he knows why. Mueller might not want to admit he knows, because that means accepting the scale corruption within his beloved institutions. It also means accepting his friends James Comey, Andrew McCabe, James Baker, Sally Yates and Loretta Lynch are corrupt political agents.

Perhaps Mueller too is a political agent; regardless, he knows what we know; and we know that he knows what we know.

Robert Mueller knows he can no longer do the ‘willfully blind‘ schtick toward FBI Chief Legal Counsel James Baker because the truth is too transparent. He’d look silly trying. Even if Mueller tried to defend him, he’d have a hard time burying the truth to do so. There’s just too much of it visible.

Mueller knows why his assembled team used deception to gain all of the Transition team emails; when he walks into the room of lawyers he knows they can’t talk about it, lawyers never do, but he knows. And they know he knows. It’s all corrupt. It’s all coming out. The entire cabal know there’s too much already known to be able to spin or hide it all.

Right now they are spending 90% (or more) of their time discussing damage control and how to sell their way out of this mess. The energy they are now spending trying to show a “Russian Conspiracy” is smaller than nil. Some team members are still trying to give angles of “if we do this”, and “if we do that”, etc. You know the routine, a good defense is a good offense. However, even in their offensive exit proposals, their time is constructing a plausible escape. We know that; he knows that; and he knows we know that.

What are they left with?

Positioning.

That’s it.

Positioning for the best exit, doing the least amount of damage to themselves and other professional swamp dwellers in the process. That’s their current energy expenditure; figuring out the exit strategy.

The House Judiciary Committee (Bob Goodlatte) is soon to get details. That’s the rightful place where ultimately the best decisions will be made. Chairman Goodlatte and his Senate counterpart Chairman Grassley, know this is their moment. Neither of them smoke cigars.

House Intel Chairman Devin Nunes will also get the details from Inspector General Michael Horowitz. He’s just about appropriately pissed-off-enough to do some real damage to all those people who besmirched his character back in March and April 2017. The larger DC intelligence community is scared-to-death of Devin Nunes.

Ignore Senate Intel Chairman Richard Burr. He will keep his mouth shut and try to avoid cameras now – when possible. He’s a UniParty defender, and he does smoke cigars. ie: he’s as corrupt as they come and swims in the deep swamp with the Decepticons. Burr’s Corinthian Wing-back will remain empty; his current preference will be to read about what he’s supposed to say from the Washington Post or New York Times bi-lines.

Additionally, one of the larger reasons to feel confidence is from Trey Gowdy (aka Rooster head) being given the Chairmanship of the House Oversight Committee. His placement there will explain everything y’all need to know about his recent rather stunning increases in personal wealth. Go look it up, you’ll see. Gowdy was purchased by the Uniparty as the replacement for Jason Chaffetz, who was the replacement for Darryl Issa.

Rooster-head’s job is now to lead the Chaff and Countermeasures routine. That’s why his personal wealth jumped so significantly. (Again, go look it up.) That’s also why his first official duty was to undermine Devin Nunes yesterday in the Washington Post.

Gowdy is on the other side. The UniParty purchased him. Don’t forget Gowdy is the House version of Ted Cruz so he was always predisposed in that direction. Never forget that. Look at everything Gowdy does as intended to distract you from anything that matters and it will all make sense to you – Clear Eyes. Rooster proved his worthiness for the UniParty while leading the Benghazi “Special Committee” to clear Clinton.

Thankfully the White Hats have set this up to allow Rooster-Head to crow poetically, yet not be in a position to do any substantive damage. [Though he might try to get some republicans wiped out in the 2018 election. So, watch out for that.]

As long as there’s no calling for a “Special Committee” the White Hats are in good shape. Beware of anyone who starts demanding that in the next month. Don’t fall for that trick. Also avoid anything to do with issues headed to the House Oversight Committee; it’s UniParty Command HQ.

Keep an eye on Jim Jordan. He’s a White Hat. He’s turned down the indulgences from the UniParty. As a ninja cynic I’ve got to admit he’s one of few good and decent people in DC. Rare breed. DC hates him. That’s good.

Sometime this month, after the initial Inspector General Michael Horowitz release, House Judiciary Chair Bob Goodlatte and Senate Judiciary Chair Chuck Grassley will likely call for a Special Counsel to investigate the upper-level management of the FBI and DOJ. Support that approach. The SC can quickly put a Grand Jury together and start presenting the IG investigative evidence, as well as enforceable subpoenas for witnesses.

There’s a boat-load of different issues here:

The unlawful exoneration of Hillary Clinton by political operatives in the DOJ/FBI.
The unlawful use of the FISA court for political spy operations by the DOJ/FBI.
The unlawful use of the Dept of Justice National Security Division. For weaponized political benefit.
The unlawful use of the FBI Counterintelligence Division. For weaponized political benefit.
The unlawful use of a Special Counsel (Mueller) investigation to hide the conspiracy.
I could go on, but you get the picture. The corruption is so deep it’s almost unfathomable; almost beyond comprehension. Almost. The enormity of it is also part of the defense strategy for the participants within it.

All of that minutia is part of the Special Counsel argument that will surface in the next 30 days. While that Special Counsel argument is ongoing, Nunes, Goodlatte and Grassley can use the Judiciary and Intelligence Committees to present to the world everything you’ve already read HERE.

And lastly, the main source of my confidence that all of this will come out…. Everyone mentioned directly or by association is also reading this sentence.

Happy New Year.

Take the time to read "Here’s the way the entire construct looks in simple outline" at the bottom of the linked article. That seems to lay it out in a clear way. Amazing what they tried to do. I hope they hang it makes Watergate look like jay walking.

I don't have the time, frankly, to follow all the intricate ins-and-outs of this scheme that Sundance has exposed in several articles, but I have a good general grasp of what happened-- and is happening. It makes my jaw drop to see the depth and breadth of the treasonous corruption. I am not naive, but just a year or so ago I would not have believed that this could happen in America-- the carefully crafted attempt to subvert a presidential election-- and then essentially to stage a coup d'etat--involving some of the most powerful people and governmental agencies, including especially the Clintons and Barack Obama, and the FBI and the DOJ.

If ultimately justice is served, 2018 will be a historic time. Watergate was childsplay, tiddlywinks, in comparison. There has been nothing like it in America, ever.

GOP senator says Comey likely leaked classified information

The IG report is going to be very interesting.

I guess it's possible they give all the swamp creatures a pass.

A top Republican senator said Wednesday that it appears former FBI Director James B. Comey leaked classified information in his effort to shape the narrative surrounding President Trump’s decision to fire him.

Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Charles E. Grassley said Mr. Comey wrote seven memos, and shared four of them with a professor he was using as an intermediary to defend him. Of the seven, four are marked at the confidential or secret level — meaning at least one of the memos Mr. Comey shared contained restricted information.

Mr. Grassley now wants to know when and how the memos were deemed classified, and what that might mean for Mr. Comey.

The Iowa Republican fired off a letter to Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein demanding answers.

“Has there been any review of whether the disclosure of the memoranda by Mr. Comey was otherwise improper, such as whether it violated his employment agreement or any Department rule or policy? If so, what is the status of the review? If not, why not?” Mr. Grassley wrote.

He said he’s personally reviewed the seven memos, but was forced to do so in a Sensitive Compartmented Information Facility, or SCIF.

“The FBI insisted that these reviews take place in a SCIF because the majority of the memos are classified,” he said. “FBI personnel refused to answer factual questions during the document reviews, including questions about the chain of custody of the documents I was reviewing, the date that they were marked classified, and who marked them as classified.”

Mr. Comey has said he gave copies of memos to Daniel Richman, a law professor at Columbia University, who then shared information from them with the New York Times.

Mr. Richman refused to give the memos to Mr. Grassley’s committee, but said he turned them over to the special counsel’s office and the FBI, which has now provided the limited access to Mr. Grassley. At least one of the memos had information now marked at the “secret” level, which is above “confidential” but below “top secret.”

“The Justice Department should know which memos were provided and be able to share that information with the committee,” Mr. Grassley wrote.

Mr. Comey, during the probe into former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s emails, said information can be classified even if it isn’t properly marked as such at the time.

He cleared Mrs. Clinton of criminal wrongdoing, saying that while she was reckless, she was too technologically incompetent to understand the risks she was running with the information.

A number of press outlets have sued the FBI demanding the Comey memos be released. The government says release would hinder the ongoing special counsel probe into Russian interference in the 2016 U.S. elections.

Mr. Comey said he wrote the memos after interactions with Mr. Trump, saying he found the president’s behavior to be so troubling he needed to memorialize it.

I feel the same way.

These times are very historically unusual. Barack Obama moved our country to the radical left in a corrupt and "power abusive" manner that had never happened before. Ever.

Now we are witnessing the pendulum swinging back. It is frightening to me that such a small portion of the population realize what has transpired over the last ten years.

Oh, sure. Manipulation is as old as the ballot. Who can vote, how, etc. When the margins are large, it is undetected. When margins are thin, every vote counts, so cheating is required to insure a proper outcome.

Think back to 1960. Kennedy won the election by a razor thin margin. Bribes to mob boss Sam Giancana in Illinois supposedly provided the union support needed to win Illinois by about 7,000 votes, puttng Kennedy in the White House. There are other examples over the years as well.

Comey has managed to pull off the rare feat of pissing off both sides. It takes talent, cunning and opportunity to manage that.

Luckily, I have enough willpower to control the driving ambition that rages within me.

When you had the votes, we did things your way. Now, we have the votes and you will be doing things our way. This lesson in political reality from Lyndon B. Johnson

"Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible." - Justice Janice Rogers Brown

I am willing to bet money that when the IG report is released it will condem multiple federal institutions and name individual persons. And that the final word will be that the IG does not deem prosecution is in order because the parties had no intent to break the law. And no reasonable prosecutor would take the case.

The breadth and width of the corruption in the government is disgusting. And until we have an AG that cares about the law and not about how he is perceived by the democrats it will remain the same. Trump needs to start exercising his executive right and purging the DOJ and the FBI for the good of the nation. To hell with what the media thinks or will say. This goes far deeper than that. Sessions has done a great job about the illegal problem, but his blind eye to political corruption is unfathomable. There is no "secret" investigation; the DOJ and FBI are full of Obama-bots and if there was any HINT of going after Clinton or the deep state it would have leaked.

President Trump, hold the people in charge accountable or fire them and appoint poeple who will obey lawful congressional oversight and tell the truth. The American people deserve a fully open account of the lawlessness that has taken over Washington DC. This crap makes me sick.

While I agree that voter fraud has always been a problem to some degree, this environment is different than just voter fraud. This is coordinated, organized and well funded conspiracy

This is historically unusual because of the degree of weaponization of federal agencies.

DoJ, FBI, and intel agencies actually working to steer and then overturn a presidential election. That is the big story here.

Clinton funded the dossier.
Supposedly Russians provided the info (for free according to Fusion GPS)

The wife of a high level DoJ person helped work on the dossier

That DoJ person (Ohr) met w Steele and Simpson

The wild unproven claims were directly and immediately fed to the FBI (and also to major news media nationwide)

Fusion paid news reporters (to spread the word ? Isikoff looks very suspicious)

The FBI, CIA, DNI and news media all presented this as an intel input rather than a DEM funded "op research"

Fanatical DEM FBI agents kicked off the investigation (Strzok, Page, McCabe, Comey ?)

The general counsel of the FBI met w MotherJones (who then broke the dossier news story)

This became the Russian collusion mantra of DEMs everywhere

Muellar staffs up w prosecutors who are extremely anti-Donald Trump. Some of the prosecutors actually defended Clinton, the Clinton Foundation, and Clinton employees while in private practice

So, sure.

Yes, indeed, that is the big-- and truly disturbing-- story. FBI were on a fast track to becoming Stasi. Along with the weaponization, as you put it, of federal agencies-- especially CIA, IRS, DOJ, ATF-- we had a totalitarian government taking tangible shape as we headed into the '16 elections. This was not something in a novel, (which you couldn't have gotten anyone to publish in, say, 2015-- too outlandish), not a paranoid delusion, this was actually happening in America.

And the struggle with those dark forces is by no means over.
