Yeah I figured she left the scene to ditch something such as drugs, left to switch drivers due to alcohol, or lastly which I seriously doubt is her conscious got to her and she returned. There is no way she can’t say she didn’t realize she hit a motorcycle that flew over her vehicle.
My thoughts exactly left to cover up something and came back, or it was someone else driving and went home to change drivers...
As to population explosion and growth of subdivisions and shopping, it's really happening in CFL, used to take just a few minutes to get out of traffic, and even close by after 9 the roads cleared up.
Not anymore, way too much growth and you can't get a ride in with less traffic even up to midnight where it used to be animals you worried about.

YooperSigsI have been looking at airbag vests. There are 3 options, more or less:
Alpinestars @ $800.
Klim @ $400
El Cheapo Amazon @ $100
Looks like Klim is the winner. Any Klim owners or wearers out there?

stickman428I average about one decent crash on my mountain bike and one or two on my electric mountain bike every year.
I didn’t realize the vests were getting that inexpensive!! I might have to scoop up a $100 cheap Amazon vest. Especially considering the electric mountain bike can hit 44 mph.

YooperSigsThe reviews for the Bezos Special vests were good, if they can be trusted. Seem a big difference in quality of materials used in the Amazon model, which is to be expected.

Helite makes two models also, one with an electronic trigger, one with a mechanical (tether). The Klim vest requires a subscription of $120.00 annually. The Alpinstars aren't user servicable.

YooperSigsI saw that the Klim uses a phone app with a subscription fee. I dont think I want to go with a tether. I will take A closer look at the Helite vests.

Helite is the go to. Tether or no tether. The tether is fool proof and you get used to it pretty quick. It’s the most common or most sold airbag on the market. Mechanical so no electronics to fail. No unwanted inflations. And it’s user serviceable.
I went A* because I use their 1 and 2 piece suits and have for 20 years.
What am I doing? I'm talking to an empty telephone

wrightdI didn't know there was that kind of safety gear for bikes, that's pretty impressive, esp. if it still allows you to enjoy the ride. That driver leaving the scene and coming back later doesn't make sense, it smells pretty fishy to me.

drill sgtHope and wish they throw the book at her for multible reasons... A good lawyer on her side will contest any blood test and or field sobriety test or whatever officer observations because she left the scene and they can claim any reading / finding of imparement in the blood / and or personal actions on the accident scene is because they did injest some type of alcholic beverage or some pills be the perscribed or street purchase to calm themselves down after the accident but before returning to the scene of the accident..... Sort of "Chain of Custody".... Prayers enroute to the bike rider........................ drill sgt.

Sig2340My gear saved me in two accidents.
First, my helmet saved me from my head-first bounce into a bumper at about 35 mph.
Second my helmet and other gear (e.g., heavy jacket, trousers, boots) saved me after my 60-0 mph instantaneous deceleration on the Beltway (hit a stopped car).
ALL the GEAR, ALL the TIME!

I don’t have the Klim vest but I have Klim gear and it is good stuff, not as good as before they were bought out but still good. I have read their best works well. Helite has been around awhile but leaning towards the Klim I really don’t want a tether. I spoke with a guy at Revzilla that wrecked in the Klim and couldn’t say enough good things.
