Don't forget the WAGNER - Wild Assed Guess, Not Easily Refuted.

And I don't know if there's an age requirement for Speaker, but since that position is in the line of succession, Ocasio-Cortez ain't old enough yet.

'Never Nancy': Democrats Ramp Up Efforts To Sideline Pelosi, Without Offering An Alternative
Benjamin Siegel, Good Morning America

A band of House Democrats determined to oppose House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi's speaker bid are planning to release a signed letter as soon as this week indicating that they have gathered enough support to deny her the 218 votes needed to win the gavel on the House floor in January, a move they say would complicate her path to a second term as speaker and force renewed discussion about her stepping aside.

"This is a simple letter saying we want new leadership, which is what a vast majority of Democrats and the American people want," Rep. Seth Moulton, D-Mass., a member of the group, told reporters Tuesday.

Pelosi, who has said she's "100 percent confident" that she will be the next House speaker, has been working since last week on her bid, meeting and talking with new members and incumbent Democrats, to shore up support.

Prominent Democrats off Capitol Hill - from New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo and former Sen. John Kerry, to former Vice President Al Gore - have been making calls on her behalf, and influential House Democrats and activists have provided a steady drumbeat of public endorsements.

But Pelosi's critics argue that she has an increasingly apparent math problem. While she's expected to lock up the caucus speaker vote with a majority of members on Nov. 28, they're hoping to publicly release their letter before that vote to hammer their point home.

Realistic alternatives? Democrats don't need no stinkin' realistic alternatives! They just say "no!" and expect someone else to work it all out!

Meanwhile, Nancy's thumping her chest about being elected caucus speaker later this month - by the current members of the House Dem caucus. The election for House Speaker won't be until January, when all of the new kids get sworn in as Congressweasels. The fun ain't over yet!

Just remember, who ever they elect is next in line behind the Vice President in the Presidential Line of Succession.

Please let it not ever be Pelosi

My WAG is that she won't.

She will. Not enough fresh commies to muscle her out of the way. Maybe some day, but not today.

Sure, but from our perspective, does it matter? Chaos, confusion and bitterness on the other side is all to the good - it'll waste more and more of the next two years that the Dems have to make something of their majority in the House, and cause more and more division within the ranks of not only the House caucus, but Dem voters and potential Dem voters in 2020. Remember, there's never a good reason to get bogged down in Pelosi's talking points.

Well, it ain't much - yet - but it looks like at least one Dem is mustering the gumption to run against Pelosi for the House Speaker position.

The Dems opposed to Pelosi argue that this as a sort of "which came first, the chicken or the egg?" question. It may be hard to muster opposition to Pelosi without having a viable candidate to run against her. OTOH, the more uncertainty there is about Pelosi's simply sweeping into power, the more likely it is that further challengers for the Speakership may emerge.

More chaos, more division, more wasted time, is all to the good in terms of hobbling the Dem majority in the House until the next election.

And the fun continues. Stopped in at the local franchised coffee joint this morning in a desperate search for a higher consciouness, took a look at the front page of today's New York Times on the rack (like I said, I was in desperate need for caffeine for a slightly higher level of consciouness) and...BWAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAHAHA!!!

Nancy Pelosi got the Congressional Democratic Caucus' nomination for House Speaker.

By a vote of 203 to 32.

She needs 218 votes to actually become House Speaker again.

So does she twist arms? Cut deals with fifteen Republicans? Or simply take support from the Republicans along with the mocking laughter and the shame (within her caucus, of course) of having been thrown a bone by the Republicans and consequently having to cobble together votes among Democrats as the House Speaker that the Republicans thought was so useless that she was the best Democratic Speaker the Republicans could hope for?

But, but, the Democrats won a majority in the House of Representatives! How scareee, how depressiiiiing!
