DrDanToday, I fell in a sinkhole
On my way in to work this morning, I was following a line of cars, but then this happened:
Fortunately, I was not hurt, and the truck was recovered undamaged. The sinkhole was about 8' in diameter and 3' deep. The road will be closed for about a week while geotechnical surveys and repairs are performed. Now, I have a new story to add to my repertoire.

.38supersigA buddy of mine had something similar happen to him Friday, but he was in a 56,000+ pound Kenworth. I dared not drive over the same road.
Good to hear you are okay with no damage to the truck. Was it resting on the hitch? Looks like it could have been a lot worse if you were traveling at a decent rate of speed or got hit from behind.
Nice looking truck.

Several years ago a timeshare building several miles north of where I live was swallowed by a sink hole.
I don't think anyone was hurt.

Had to be a weird feeling having the asphalt collapse under your axle.
Most sink holes in city streets are from water line breaks/leaks. Did you see water?
