The Stylistics; Earth, Wind, and Fire; George Thorogood & the Destroyers; ZZ Top. Order of preference depends on my mood for the particular day.

Best regards,
Nick.

Without a doubt my number one favorite band is AC/DC. If you’ve never seen them live, you have done yourself a great disservice. The energy of their live shows has to be experienced to be believed. What you hear on an album or on the radio is what you hear live.

After them a not too distant second is Lynyrd Skynyrd. Then the next level would be ZZ Top, Van Halen and Motley Crue. That’s my top five with AC/DC the clear leader of the pack.

You ain’t kidding. I was never a huge fan. I was more into Queen when AC/DC was coming up. I liked a few songs but didn’t really follow them. I got a chance to see them in Florida when I lived there. Whoooooooo, what a show. Absolutely tight and everyone did a perfect job. The cannons were on beat, Angus never stopped. Just perfect.

Unfortunately, the opener was White Lion. They tried their ballads BS and got booed off the stage. Vito flipped everyone off. LOL. No one wants ballads at an AC/DC concert.

Just not enough votes for Moody Blues !!

Would actually vote different bands for other decades, perhaps Moody Blues over the other because of excitement of the high school years.

Glenn Miller. Marine Corps band would be second. All later other ones don't play music, just noise.

Some of us can appreciate the use of noise to create original sounds. The concept of Apollonian and Dionysian applied to music opens up the world to willing listeners. That’s not even to mention the music from around the world that you’re limiting out of your life. You can’t listen to Trio Bulgarka and not appreciate it. That’s my personal challenge to you.

Well there was only one band that ever got me to skip school. Used to pretend to be sick so my mom would let me stay home and watch.

I remember picking up their tape at the mall. Only copy they had, boy was I lucky that day!

I’m right with ya, I saw most of the grunge bands in and around Seattle back in the day, Nirvana put on a great show as well.
Led Zepplin in the 70’s, saw them live in 75.
Beyond that so many good ones I’m not gonna list them, but a lot of the ones in this thread are favorites of mine.
I like that CCR reference too, listen to them do “I put a spell on you” at Woodstock, Fogerty’s vocals are amazing.
