Well it was a Monday, so yes I played Walk Like an Egyptian and they laughed hysterically. Now thinking back, I did The Bangles a disservice by playing their biggest hit. I could have picked, the obviuos choice, Manic Monday and those kids might have gone on to listen to other Bangles songs. That was like judging Dire Straits based on Money for Nothing or the Talking Heads on Burning Down the House.

From this point forth, I shall endeavor not to play any band's seminal hits for impressionable minds.
The sarcasm is hit/miss. Meh.

Eternal Flame was a far bigger hit for them.

What you could get was the Campus Radio Network which was basically run by student volunteers. So the AM Jock Like to start off every single day with Stairway to Heaven. To say I loathe Led Zeppelin is an understatement.

So you aren't buying a Stairway to Heaven?

Some greats in here. Never heard of Slade so I checked them out. Like what I hear. Amazing what I find in these threads.

Anywhoodle:

Pink Floyd is my favorite band and I try not to burn myself out on them so I do play others with more regularity but when I do hear Floyd, it's amazing! My cousin and I will text one another stupid stuff. One day he asked "if there was only one band you could listen to the rest of your life, who would it be?" Though the thought is sickening (no other music, ever Frown ?) it is provoking. Makes you boil the fluff away and I think I'd settled on Pink Floyd and Metallica. Can't really put into words how hard it was to make the decision, but I did and I think it still holds true.

Ever notice the OP asked what your favorite band EVER and many reply with a laundry-list of bands? Confused
Or maybe I just mis-comprehended the question. Frown

It is kind of hard to pick just one. I, personally, have favorites in different genres.

If I had to pick one, after really thinking of listening to only one musician until the end of time… it would be Beethoven.

If I had to choose from modern music, it would be a coin toss between the heavy metal band “Tool”, and a Welsh EDM group called “Hybrid”. They did a lot of music with the Russian Federal Orchestra.

Smschulz, please take this lightheartedly, but man, you can be a fun sponge. You just suck the fun out of a thread. Smile it’s a gift and a curse.

That said, you are correct. The OP asked a specific question. And I probably would have listed a few bands, but your reply did make me correct my poor posting action, and so I replied in what I think you would agree, falls into the definitions of “comprehension”.

Like I said, gift and a curse.

I listen to a lot of bands across a lot of genres, but the all time fave is still Rush.

Every time I walk into a music store and pick up a guitar, I can't help myself, I play the intro to Stairway to Heaven. I can't explain. Big Grin
