I don’t know anything about their relationship, but there are limits in any relationship on how much control one partner can exert over another. Given that what a self centered egotistical piece of work Alec “ND” Baldwin is, I’d guess that her ability to control his behavior is quite limited.

In case you were wondering, Rust debuted with a limited release to 115 theaters this past May. On opening day it grossed about $25,000. Not $25 million, $25,000.
Rust, an Alec Baldwin-produced western, hit a catastrophic snag not long into production on October 21, 2021, when a gun wielded by Baldwin discharged and critically wounded director of photography Halyna Hutchins, who later died en route to a hospital. [...] Production resumed one year and a half later, and the film was released in 2025.

About Alec vs. Tree, his recent crash involving he and his brother.
"There were no injuries reported or summons issued and the contributing factors to the accident were found to be a reaction to an uninvolved vehicle and the slippery and wet roadway conditions," the statement said.
No summons issued. No mention of Field Sobriety Test. You or I would have at least received a ticket for “failure to have vehicle under control”
