Because he’s probably too humble to post this himself I’ll do it for him. Our very own CPDSIG is now Sgt. CPDSIG. Proof that hard work sometimes pays off. Congrats Sgt.

Congrats! A man who was like a father to me was my Sergeant for years and he passed away a short time ago. As a Rookie, I gave him some gray hairs. A Sergeant story: My Sergeant was a creature of habit and ate breakfast every midnight shift at a local restaurant. I often joined him for breakfast and one day we were eating, we heard sirens approaching us. A car passed the restaurant at high speed, followed by a neighboring jurisdictions patrol cars and the rest of our shift. A Pursuit! I had turned off my portable radio to keep down the noise while eating, thinking the Sarge had his on. Nope, he turned his off when he saw me come in. Realizing neither of us had radios on, the Sarge turned to me and asked if my radio was on. When I said no, he said "You fucked up"! That, Gentlemen, is leadership! Good luck, Sergeant CPDSIG

"Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible." -- Justice Janice Rogers Brown

"It did not really matter what we expected from life, but rather what life expected from us. We needed to stop asking about the meaning of life, and instead to think of ourselves as those who were being questioned by life – daily and hourly. Our answer must consist not in talk and meditation, but in right action and in right conduct. Life ultimately means taking the responsibility to find the right answer to its problems and to fulfill the tasks which it constantly sets for each individual." Viktor Frankl, Man's Search for Meaning, 1946.
