I live there. It's absolutely true. The quality of life is going down and there's no coming back without a change in leadership in Sacramento, including replacing the super majority the Dems have. Repubs have literally no voice in politics and can only watch, do interviews, hold pressers and just muse about it all.

They won't quit, no way. Ballot fraud is now the major component of the CA election process.

No I.D. at vote-in-place polls.

Automatic mailing of mail-in ballots to all "registered" voters.

Ballot harvesting is legal statewide, with no restrictions on the number of ballots any person can submit.

Public ballot drop boxes are everywhere, in the county I used to live are four dozen of these mail boxes.

CA is a sanctuary state, illegals are capable of getting drivers licenses, and registering to vote is easy for non citizens.

CA is permanently fucked and unfuckery will never happen.

Large metropolitan cites (LA, SF, Sac and similar) control who is voted in office. In terms of geography, CA is very red but we don't elect based on that so the free shit crowd will always vote in people who promise free shit.

Gen Z thinks the American dream is gone and when a DSA or Dem candidate promises them free stuff or at subsidized rates, they'll vote for that every time.

Illegals have their own interests in mind when they vote and the politicians are beholden to first responder, teacher, public employee and prison guard unions. Add in private organizations such as SEIU and there is no way in hell that CA will change. It's a cemented in place and nothing on the horizon suggests change is coming or there's going to be relief from high costs or red tape.

I’ve been gone 5 years after living there 40+. It’s sad. I text daily with multiple friends all maga and in their later 40’s to early 50’s and all solidly mid career. These friends are like abused spouses all give reasons why they can’t leave. It’s almost always can’t leave this great job or kids are still in school or who will deal with their now elderly parents. Thankfully they almost all bought houses in the early 2000’s so they are stable. It took a year of planning and effort to get out and cut the cord with a house to sell and kids in middle school etc. but it’s possible.

I went back to visit a few weeks ago for a big family gathering. Just in 5 years I’ve been gone driving around my old SF Bay are neighborhood and areas where I worked 10-20 years ago it’s like a dystopian wasteland. Oh well. Best of luck to my brothers behind the lines. Get out when you can. And people that vote for this shit ? You can all stay and don’t ruin any other state.

If US News & World Report ranks you lowly, you know you’re in deep shit. You can’t use that “right wing” outlet excuse.

Those 6 in order are: Colorado, Rhode Island, Connecticut, Mississippi, New Jersey, and #50, my home state of Illinois! How did I know that was coming?

It’s funny how leftist democrats like to tout that California is one of the top global economies but completely gloss over the fact that they’re essentially bankrupt.

And that without federal welfare programs they couldn't get away with what they have done. They have the largest welfare population by far.

I would be in favor of secession, or Calexit.
They couldn't survive on their own. They would have to go bankrupt and they would be begging for re-admission the the US after 10 years.

"Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible."

So, they've run out of other people's money? Don't worry, they're counting on the rest of us bailing them out. Me, I'm rooting for San Andreas.

The most tragic thing is that there is a major National political party with the goal of pulling the entire country into the California morass, and another which seems to lack the will to oppose the trend.
