Battery. Your neighbors will appreciate the quietness. Buy whatever brand you already have batteries for. I’m not sure you need an Ego 56V blower for ten minutes of blowing time unless you’re already invested in the Ego 56V system.

I switched to battery lawn equipment years ago for my small, in-city yard, including the blowers. I've had both 18v and 40v models, and I still use the 18v one.

However, I've found it lacking in some scenarios and recently sought out a used Stihl gas blower. I found one on Craigslist for $15 and was listed as "won't start". I figured there was a decent chance that I could get it going for pretty cheap, and I was I was right. No parts were required to fix it, just a few minutes of work.

It works much better than the battery one's I've had, and it starts easily, every time.

At the end of the day, I like having both options.

I voted Ego, but I have a new Stihl 56V a friend gave me as a housewarming gift and it ROCKS!

As folks say, if you already have or will be getting other rechargeable tools consider the same system. In my case I had a Stihl trimmer as well.

Folks also say get same as lawnmower, which I don't really understand. My EGO lawnmower battery is HUGE and heavy, and even if I could attach it to a blower I wouldn't want to, so having that as a separate item and charger is fine for me.

I'm curious why you wouldn't dry your vehicles with a 2 stroke ?

I have an Ego 56V blower 670 CFM (came with a 4 AH battery) and Ego 56V weed whacker (came with a 2.5 AH battery).

I have a gas blower and will always have one.

I like the Ego blower, plenty of power. If you stay off turbo mode the battery lasts for a normal mow day. I use turbo mode a lot. The battery charges up in a decent time, but the battery life between charges has dropped slightly. I think the battery replacement cost is ridiculous. And no idea if I would just buy a battery on its own when its life is over.

I still use the gas powered blower when I just want it to run a long time and not have to recharge a battery. Really noticable in the fall or a big clean up day. Of if you are helping out cleaning up other peoples yards.

If I had to choose only one, it would be the gas due to longer use capability and quick refill.

If you really would only use it 10 minutes at a time, the Ego would be fine (with a 4 or 5 AH battery). And yes it does a great job blowing off vehicles after a wash!

I voted Ego. All of their stuff that I have used has been top-notch. I have not used their blower, but I expect it would be good.

I don't expect to ever purchase another tiny two-stroke in my life.

I guess I'm just lucky but I have 2 stroke Stihl and Husqvarna power tools that still run flawless after 15 years of use. Star Tron enzyme fuel treatment in alcohol free gas mixed with Amsoil Sabre oil. My rec for a homeowner blower is a Stihl BG50 $150 at most stores.

I have been very happy with my Ego 56v lawnmower. I also had the 56v weed eater and a backpack blower.

My wife did not like the weight of the WE and blower, so sold those off and have Ryobi 40v version which is another system I was already invested in.

I’ve got batteries for Ryobi going strong for com(no up on 10 years, the Ego is about 6 years in at this point. All are still strong and get good charges. Mower covers back and 2 front yard mowing son a charge, Ryobi on the blower (have one of their strongest) is good for at lease 20 minutes or more at full power.

Here is the blower I have if you want to consider Ryobi:

https://www.homedepot.com/p/RY...r-RY404100/314600140

It came with two batteries and I got 10% off veteran’s discount

The Ryobi batteries are a little less $$$ and the are also aftermarket battery options for both systems available on Amazon

Ego battery operated.
The EGO customer service is incredible. My battery went bad one month before the three year warranty expired. They sent a new one with no questions.
I’ve had the blower about six or seven years and it is convenient and effective. Variable speed. No maintenance . Great product . I also love the EGO string trimmer and hedge trimmer.

Ditched the gas and went with and Ego blower AND trimmer. The bigger battery is worth it. for both of them.

No more messing with 2 cycle. No more trips to get gas.
Saving money.

We have a Shindiawa that has been bulletproof for years. Too heavy for the wife so we bought an Ego 765? And she's been happy. I've used it a few times and it is impressive. As others have said, grab the Ego.

I do have an Echo gas backpack still for fall cleanup but Ryobi 40v whisper series for the quick hits on the driveway and back deck. I’d totally go battery in your case.

Check Ace and Lowes for the 765 with the second battery deal, I bought one a month ago to replace the 530 cfm. It comes with a 2.5 and 5.0, the deal basically gives you a 5.0 battery for free.

Link

The sale flyers were still up at Lowes when I was there two days ago, they have a new 830 cfm out so you can get a deal on the 765 and its a ton of air it moves.

I’ve got a nice Stihl gas blower that for the most part is trouble free. I’ve also gotten a few Milwaukee battery powered lawn tools. Every time I mess with the Stihl I consider selling it while it still works and has some value.

Electric all the way for small lawn care equipment. Gas motors have their place but not for small equipment.

OP does not mention how long it would be used per session? that's got to be a factor.

+1 for the baby Stihl. Bonus for availability from the locally owned store, knocked off $30 because I rent other stuff from them a few times a year and bought a thing of Motomix.

100% top shelf 2T oil + ethanol free gas + stabilizer of your choice. (I've not heard good things about that premix red stuff in a can from Home Depot)

I'm all in with Milwaukee M18 battery equipment/tools. I have found my M18 blower to be a great asset around the house.
No more 2 stroke equipment around my house.
