My Dr's office made me do the same shit on Friday. I asked him when he told me I didn't need the mask, he said it wasn't for covid, but to help limit the spread of any other upper respiratory infection a patient might be seen for.

Of course, because such things did not exist before early 2020, right?

Me and the wife have appointments with our new Primary since our old Dr. of 40 years retired. Frown
I am dreading the appointment which is next week.
Needed to go - hadn't been in over two-three years.

She had to pick one that was in our Network out of the Internet. more> Frown

I already prepped the wife for mask resistanceby me. Mad
She, by nature is a sheeple (except with me which she is a wolfle) but I digress ... and she will willing comply but I am going to fight for my right to parrteee.

So we will see how it goes.... Eek

May I suggest you call the practice to see if masks are required. If they are and you're not willing to wear one then find someplace else that doesn't require them. Please don't take it out on the staff. As I said previously the odds are they don't want to wear them either nor do they want to enforce you wearing them.

In my offices I've had to intervene too many times with patients who refuse to comply with the policies set by the hospital system (not the practice itself) and who give the staff shit about it. My solution is to tell the patient they can wear the mask, reschedule the appointment to a later time in hopes that the mask mandate is lifted by then, or find someplace else.

I do not see the mask requirement for healthcare lasting too much longer. Patients fail to recognize the Power of CMS to govern care. Corporate care makes it worse through their requirements.

I stopped in my Vets office to pick up some pain meds for my 14 year old arthritic Beagle. The entire staff wears masks, but doesn’t require it for visitors (or patients). Smile

Struck me as very strange.

I have never mandated masks in our office for staff or patients. I have never forced patients to wear masks. Of course, we had to follow our federal, state and local city mandates...but we're not enforcers.

I've never mandated my staff to wear masks; they have chosen whether or not they would (most did choose to mask in following government directives), and to this day some staff wear masks and some don't.

It is probably fair to say the staff is aware of my opinion of mask wearing.

Yeah, weak sauce. I informed him no more vaccines for me after my severe reaction to the shingles vaccine.

I go to an Ortho practice with offices in Illinois and Iowa. The Iowa side maintained its mask mandate because their Illinois side had to. Iowa did away with masking a year ago.

They just stopped with the safety theater when Illinois stopped the mask mandate, election time is coming.

Their mask nazis kept making dire threats last month because I refuse to wear the things over my nose.

What is your proof that "masks don't work"?

The proof is that you need a scanning electron microscope to see a virus, and the weave of cloth masks can be seen without a scanning electron microscope.

Yep. The only benefit from masking was the possible prevention of droplets being expelled during coughs or sneezes.

City transit in Tucson has the "Mask Mandate", too.

I ride the Bus when possible as it's free and runs each 15 minutes near my house.

So, mask goes on as I enter the Bus, then pulled down under my nose, then mask is removed when I leave the Bus.

BTW, none of the non medical businesses mandate mask wearing.

The virus is nanometers. Translates to a few wavelengths of light.

If you can smell organic molecules like farts, acetone and other odors, fuhgettaboutit …

Our vet still doesn't let owners in with the pets, it's 100% curbside they come get the animal and return it. No sitting inside the office, bad thing is on a hot day I can go through a few gallons of gas sitting there for an hour idling...

I don't know about buses as I don't ride em, but other than some medical, none of the businesses around me mandate masks.

Even my Dentist never did mandate masks anywhere in his building. He wears one, of course, but he always did when doing work on peoples' mouths.

I had the same thing happen to me on Monday, I had some cancerous tumors removed in my neck in Feb, I walk in without a mask and the receptionist tells me I need a mask while she meanwhile has hers down under her chin and 3 other people in the office had none on at all. I kindly pointed this out to her and she didn’t know what to say. I said no thanks, if he doesn’t want to see me, I’ll go elsewhere. Her response was “have a seat” screw that, it’s all for feel goods and show…

Here at the Veterans Affairs center in Dayton requires everyone wear a mask when you enter a building. You get screened at the door for Covid and given a mask if you don't have your own.
You must wear a mask/face shield or you are asked to leave. If you have a doctor letter excepting you, you may enter without it.
CDC rules and directives are mirrored by the VA.
