Im not a conspiracy theory nut, in the least. I pride myself at being fairly level headed, not prone to impulsive or radical thoughts. However....

Of late, I’ve been taking stock of my survival supplies and stocking up on a little “extra” food (mainly just items we eat already). Yes, I’ve been watching videos on prepping (Some for information but mostly for fun). I haven’t thought of any type of bug out scenario, and dont consider myself a “prepper”.

What strikes me as odd, is I’m not alone in my recent interest... I’ve finding a huge number of people I know are stocking up, buying guns, food. Supplies, etc... people who you’d never think of as Preppers...

Who else is just getting into this? (PM me your home address and current stockpile) ha j/k

Since 2006. But I still don’t quite feel prepared enough.

Now I am helping other patriots that did not plan ahead, or read Para's thread on buy it now while it's calm.
Selling them ammo at cost that was purchased years ago. Who knows they might have my back when SHTF.

But it never ends, now I want to start freeze drying my own food, instead of purchasing. So I put in a order to Harvest Right for a freeze dryer. Apparently everyone was thinking the same thing. Two months wait, my harvest will be rotten by then. Oh well, next year.

I have finally stopped buying ammo, and powder, but wait powder valley still has 8# of Hogdgans H355 available, I should buy it!! And I better make the best use of that Hazmat charge, what else do they have?

It's a good disease.

The instructions were simple: "Be prepared."

Preparedness is built up in layers, one on top of the other. Mindset. Skillset. Toolset.

You don't need to be a "prepper" or half-apologize for sorta-but-mostly-for-funsies thinking about "prepping" for some particular apocalypse. Just follow the motto, get your shit together, and be prepared.

I’ve just spent the last month installing a diesel standby generator. With the 70 gallon fuel tank, I can power the house for weeks, running just eight hours a day.

I also purchased one of those duraflame K-1 heaters as an additional backup. I filled up all my propane bottles, so I have about thirty gallons of LP gas. I need to fill all of my gasoline cans, so I’ll have 60 gallons of gas. That’ll be all the hydrocarbon prepping for this current panic.

Somehow I’m completely set for toilet paper, but I’ll get some extra to cover V-Tail. Smile

I hope you aren't just starting. I've been prepping since 2007. Other than the run on toilet paper which was totally unexpected (I buy it 6 months at a time), I've been pretty well stocked.

You don't have the disinfecting wipes so you're a goner.

I secured 12 cases of Real Sugar Mt Dew last weekend from Iowa's East Coast, so with proper rationing that MIGHT last me until the election, but it will be close. Hopefully, local supplies will be caught up by then, not sure why they keep canning Code Purple Zero Rush EIEIO Mt Dew instead of Real Sugar here.

Well, since I'm a type 1 Diabetic (with an insulin pump), I don't have any Real Sugar Mt Dew...
But I've got plenty of other stuff!! Big Grin

We started 30 years ago. Since then our preparations have become more sophisticated and broad. Back then we stored basic grains and beans.....some canned goods and expired MREs. You can live on it, but it tastes like crap. Now we have a freeze dryer. Have had for 4 years. Our food storage has gone from basic to fully cooked and freeze dried meals and so on.

The latest and likely final evolution is we bought a ranch. It is very remote. We are building a new residence on it with a barn, a shop and a green house. Did I mention is is remote? It is part of a co-op where we intend to be self sufficient and independent. The latest events have driven this decision. We expect to be ready for occupancy within two years. There will be enough room for each of the DFs and their families should distance from chaos be necessary. So yeah, we prep.

The wife and I have about 14 months worth of freeze dried food for us and our family plus a few life straws for water purification. We have about 2000 rounds of 9mm and 3000 rounds of .556 ammo. We do not have an off grid energy generation system. Looking forward to reading this thread to get some good ideas for a solution to that whole energy thingy.
