Hahaha three days of no sleep in ICU is enough to finish anyone off.

So I'm ok they neurologist has no clue. Lucky me.

Thanks for asking. Mrs. Mike and I will be seeing another neurologist for a second opinion.

Mike, my last stay was almost identical, no sleep, even with the demerol IV. I'm post stroke and fell fracturing a vertebrae. They had me in a vest and monitored by an alarm on the bed to keep me in it. I have issues being in a hospital the days since my last 2 month stay to repair a brain aneurysm rupture and stroked during surgery. My prayers go out to you and wish you a great recovery. I think you mentioned in a past thread you suffered a stroke already, I think. Godspeed my friend.

Regards, Will G.

Get well soon and hope the 2nd opinion provides clarity.

As far as sleep, my grandfather's congestive heart failure side effects landed him in the hospital a bunch of times and his memorable quote was "hospitals are the only place where they'll wake you up to ask if you're sleeping ok."

Best wishes for your recovery.
ICUs are never fun or comfortable. Best advice I can give is be very nice to the nursing staff. They will do more to get you well then the doctors.

So they released me this afternoon...

got home, got a shower (ahhhhh)

Mrs. Mike has been calling the neurologist from my last stroke (her silly receptionist is all, well we have one in April) [shakes head and walks into other room]

Need answers about what it is; to see if I can ever work as a cop again...am I gonna have another "stroke/TIA/seizure" or do I just need a good black magic woman?? FML

Thanks everyone for the good vibes!!

The best advice I can give about "no appointments until April" is this:

1) "Ok, cool, can you put me on your list to call, if there are any cancellations?"
And
2) If you have the free time, go down to the office and wait. Walk in, tell the nice lady at the desk "I don't have an appointment. I'm hoping that someone doesn't show up, the doc finishes up with someone early, whatever, and can squeeze me in." Then smile and say "I'll be sitting right over there, reading a book." and take your seat.
Odds are, you'll get seen.

Luck,

Bruce

Make it totally clear to anyone standing at the wrong end that things are going badly for them. If that means sticking all sort of spikes and prongs and blackened bits all over it then so be it. This is not a gun for hanging over the fireplace or sticking in the umbrella stand, it is a gun for going out and making people miserable with." -Douglas Adams
