Prime items will ship in 2 days - when they get around to shipping it. My biggest complaint with Prime is that 2 day shipping has little value if it takes 2-3 weeks to ship something.

It's convenient for small items where the shipping would cost more than the actual item you want.

Just about all my orders have arrived the quoted time, there has only been a couple where they arrived the next business day.

I order a lot of things as well, everything from dog food to rifle scopes and pistol sights. Honestly, this is the first time I’ve had and problems at all. It wouldn’t be an issue if it was an item or two but to see it on everything makes no sense. I just don’t understand what changed so dramatically over the last few weeks to see such a big change in shipping speed.

I did get another email last night that they are refunding my entire membership fee that I paid in January. This is after being told they couldn’t do it. I also checked my account and it shows I’m no longer a Prime member so it must be refunded completely

Lately, all my stuff is taking 7-8 days or more.

Oh, wait, I'm in Afdustistan! Big Grin

That aside, I'm getting a bit P.O.'d at all the stuff they won't /"can't" ship here. Stuff you really need, like Leatherman tools, holsters for lights, tools, etc. Baby butt wipes? 6 days, BAM. So, they've lost a little business and a lot of loyalty.

I have not experienced any of what you guys are describing. I'm guessing you live in the country. I have maybe 2-3 shipments that don't make 2 day delivery, sometimes they are faster.

I really can't complain about Prime, the music, movies and free shipping. I only had one problem over the last few years and it was quickly taken care of. I've placed 40 orders in the last 6 months.

Last Friday, Memorial Day weekend, I ordered a gift for a friend in Oregon, it arrived Saturday!
Now that's service.

Well I certainly don't live in the country, far from it; and looking at Chowser & birddog1's profiles, they don't either. Matter of fact, the 3 of us live within 30 miles (Chowser and I & 50 for birddog1) of an Amazon fulfillment center, so that is not the issue. I personally believe Amazon is saving money by using their own courier and the courier cannot keep up with the volume and bold enough that they don't think people will care or say anything.

If UPS handles the shipping all the way to my house, I usually get the 2-day delivery. When they hand the delivery off to the USPS, you can add another 2-3 days onto that.

I order lots of small items individually and have Fire TV, so the Prime membership is worth it for the free shipping, music and movies.

Amazon and USPS work together like a well-oiled machine up here. Always two days. (One day a couple of times.)

Based on my multiple experiences with Amazon Logistics, it is not the volume. It is general incompetence.

I receive all package delivery at my account at The UPS Store. This address probably receives more Amazon packages than any other address in the city. First time around, Amazon Logistics "could not find the address!"

On another order, they attempted delivery at 6:41 pm, well after the clearly posted closing time of The UPS Store. I raised hell with customer NO-service, they promised delivery before 9:00 am the following morning. Did not happen, but they attempted re-delivery at 8:43 pm. UPS Store was closed at 6:41 the previous day, why would they think it would be open two hours later? Buncha putzes.

UPS Store manager informs me that most of the Amazon Logistics drivers who do manage to find the address during business hours do not speak understandable English.

Definitely not out in the sticks. I’ve placed 76 orders in the last 6 months and never a problem until the last two. It doesn’t make sense.

I think I’m going to have to go this route as well. I just spoke to Amazon again. If I go the customer service route it seems to be someone offshore. By going the cancellation route it seems to be in the US. They don’t see any reason why it should be showing 7 days for every item. I’m going to have my wife sign up tonight for an Amazon free trial and see what it shows for her.

I get things generally on time. What's changing for me is the quality of shipping. The AMZN shipping service seems to lack the standards of primary carriers like UPS, Fedex, USPS. Treatment of the packages, where the packages are left, etc.

And one time, I was at my brother's house and the pkg was delivered by some unkempt person driving an old beater. NOT professional.

As an aside, the more concerning / alarming trend is that more and more, products I search for are more frequently "fulfilled by amzn" or ships from a 3rd party.

First of all, not sure why I need Amzn in these cases. I won't buy from no-name 3rd parties - neither their products nor giving them access to my CC, name, address.

Second, many of these 3rd parties seem China based. 2nd strike.

There will come a point when more stuff I want to buy is not sold/shipped from amzn but only 'fulfilled' or even sold/shipped by 3rd party. At that point, I will drop Prime.

We started seeing that with free shipping pre-Prime. That and a lot of SmartPost.

With Prime it always comes USPS, UPS or FedEx. Mostly 2nd day. Some third. A few, here and there, longer. Used to be 2nd day, every time.

Amazon's buyer protections, mainly.

Though I'll generally only go with "ships from 3rd party" it's someone I know, like Fenix or whatever.

I still regard Prime a good deal, but, as I noted in another thread: With their subscription increase and their fight with Google leaving AP Video off Android TV: They may not survive past this year's renewal. I can buy a lot of 2nd day shipping for $120/year. And most of the time I don't really need it 2nd day.

Plus dumping Prime would encourage me to shop locally, more, which is a good thing.

Ill be letting my prime membership run out this year and will not be renewing. Amazon math is 2 = 3. Ill just go above the 25 dollar free shipping minimum when I do order.

Half the time the item is not even touched by Amazon but coming from some 2nd party located who knows where....

years ago they offered me a charger for my I-phone for a lowly $3 while I was ordering other stuff and so shipping was free..... that one item had to be shipped from Hong Kong.... that is when I realized that one day if this continues our entire economic system will surely collapse.

Been a prime member from the jump. Never had an issue and don’t anticipate any. The movies, music, Echo notifications, shipping and customer service are worth the price of admission, for us.

There is no way USPS lost a contract. Maybe just your local area they are hiring out the delivery to 3rd party subcontractors, who don't know the different between a wagon wheel and a steering wheel?
