2019 f150 owner with the 10 speed transmission. Take it back in on 9/12, for the second transmission issue. Downshifts from 4 to 3 sometimes feel like you got rear ended. Spring inside the transmission replaced on first trip and reflashed. Transmission “learns” from the driver and supposedly shifts the way it is supposed to. Not sure how it learned I like the horrible downshift. Transmission is shared across some GM units. Bought mine used with 7,500 miles on it and transmission is the worst of any vehicle I’ve owned.

2007 Suburban 5.3L...major money pit for my sister, and after spending thousands on dollars on the machine, they donated it to me. I discovered the oil consumption to be exceedingly high, due to the AFM and its attendant mechanical problems. I lost the electronic throttle actuator while at speed on an interstate, and that resulted in a tow to a shop.

You can turn off AFM with a HP Tuner operation. This requires registering your VIN with a HP Tuner, which is about $100. And, the tuner charges for his time.

I have a 2013 GMC Sierra HD, with the 6.0L V8 (gas) and the 6L90 transmission. The transmission just died, at 160K miles, and will cost me about $5K to replace.

So, there are with any brand issues. But, as much as I like GM, and want to drive a GM, I am losing faith in the brand.

With retirement in five years, I expect that I'll have time to make a reasoned decision on the 2013 replacement.

The F-150 has the 10R80 which is a different transmission than the 10R60 in the Explorer.

As far as getting better fuel economy with the 3.0 EcoBoost than with the NA 3.6, I’m sure it’s possible but it might not be probable. I suppose you could put it in grandma mode (Eco), but what’s the fun in that?

Sitting at the dealer looking at a 2018 Exped Max.
Every Suburban we've tried to see has been a flop or unavailable.

Now for the numbers game.

Sitting in the driveway, financing to run through my CU tomorrow
2018 Expedition Max Limited. Pearl/metallic white on taupe (grayish tan) leather, bucket seats in 2nd row.
Definitely doesn't drive like it's as big as it is.
Massive next to the Flex.

Digging it!
Glad you were able to get something worked out. I know it was not your first choice but having owned both I wish we still had the Expedition and not the Suburban.

It's much nicer than I expected, a few things for the dealer to address, but the brief drive home was showing 20mpg.

Also need to figure out how to enable AndroidAuto, had it in my 16 F150 & liked being able to run Waze on the main screen.
Hoping simple as a system update.
Need to charge up & break out my ForScan & see what I can do.

Eek
Have a cold start 'rattle' under the hood.
Browsing the Expedition forum & seems it may need the cam phasers replaced.
Should be under warranty luckily.
The truck is at the dealer today to finish a few items that weren't addressed before delivery, so they're checking it while it's there.

Update: There's 2 TSB (or whatever it is Ford calls them, I grew up around GM shops) for the cam phasers.
The first is for a PCM reflash, they did this & no change.
2nd is replacing the cam phasers, covered 100% up to 79,999 miles. They're going to order the parts & schedule a time to bring it back in once the parts are in.

Bonus, I guess they hadn't run it through the shop prior to putting it on the lot Confused
They're replacing the shocks, brakes, wipers, cabin & air filters. Should pick it back up today.
I'll take 2 days in a purple ashtray (2019 F150 'loaner') for all of that work being covered.

So it's a CPO, but they forgot to actually 'Certify' it... Confused

Not a CPO, just Ford Pre-owned.
CPO would've been nice. Actually a bit surprised they didn't CPO it, being a 2018 with only 34k on it.
Not sure what Ford's criteria for CPO is, maybe 4 years is 'too old'?
