My family has a property in Florida and our lawn care person just quit the business. He did not offer any suggestions- According to him, no one wants to work. What we are looking for is someone who can mow and trim every three weeks or so. This is an old style Fl lawn, not a perfectly manicured resort type, and we are snowbirds. We’d prefer not to go with a major company, but a smaller group/guy that’s local to the Tampa area. How would we go about finding someone such as this - as lawn care professionals yourselves, what do you suggest? __________________________ "Trust, but verify."

Where is it in Tampa-my big bro lives there and has a guy, maybe he can help you out. Don’t know how far he goes, but chucks is in Forest Hills area on Babe Zaharias golf course. Hillsborough- and I think my dad is afraid to go through next-door because we’ve had such negative experiences in the past. We want someone reliable, that will show up- the same someone. Not a random different person every time. Not take anything (including the fruit-without asking) and do the job requested. Naturally, we have cameras everywhere. But still it’s hard to pay someone for an hours worth of work, watch them do a slipshod job for 20 minutes on camera, and then leave the gate open when they leave. This last guy was all right, but he is out of the business now, if I understand correctly. __________________________ "Trust, but verify."

Facebook Marketplace, it's the go to for local service ads, you'll find all kinds of people there. Can't recommend as we're across the state, but you should be able to find someone there. YOu should be able to look them up and check reviews. Yelp, Marketplace etc. Link FB marketplace

I’m picking up Chuck tomorrow from the airport and I’ll ask him. "Violence, naked force, has settled more issues in history than has any other factor.” Robert A. Check with neighbors near your property. Some of them can probably recommend a lawn care guy. Serious about crackers.

Yup, ^ this. If you can grab someone that does a neighbor’s yard, they might even get a discount because now the guy or crew is doing 2 or more same time/day. What am I doing? I'm talking to an empty telephone

And they're more likely to pick you up because it's not an extra stop if they have full routes by now.

Well, the bummer there is, this was the Neighbor and family. We’re checking with the our local church people now, and have another option potentially, but we’d prefer to keep it small town. We own the property on the other side of us as well, and then it goes to commercial property. Thanks Mike. I appreciate it. __________________________ "Trust, but verify."

^ sorry for the late response, we’ve been breaking down all the things for him as he watches (plays adult) for our teenager while we are in the UK next week. So, chuck’s guy only does yardcare for the Forest Hills/Lake Magdalene are not going further- he is scaling back due to age and only does chucks yard by himself because he’s known Chuck forever and is disabled and doesn’t like lots of folks coming and going. And he didn’t know what you meant by “Hillsborough” as a locale unless you mean somewhere in the county. And it’s a huge county. From Temple terrace to lutz to Tampa proper, Cockroach bay and out past Brandon. Chucks said to check with neighbors and see who they us, lawn guys love to get places in one area so they can do them the same time and save money on gas and time.
