As Denver faces a budget crisis due to 40,000 illegal immigrants arriving in the last year, the city is using its resources to get the migrant population employed, warning hourly workers that they may lose hours to illegal immigrants and using the public school system to help the illegals get work permits, according to emails obtained by The Daily Wire.

Denver’s 9 News reported on Monday that the City of Denver warned its workforce of job cuts, reporting that while the city “says it is NOT laying off employees to pay for the migrant crisis,” it “IS telling hourly employees they may have their hours reduced to zero.” Sen. John Hickenlooper (D-CO) told the outlet that because companies are generally barred from hiring illegal immigrants, the city may simply start hiring illegal immigrants itself — even though that is also illegal.

Denver's leadership is quite insistent that it isn't laying off any of its current employees. They are keeping them on the payroll, technically, just not giving them any hours and hence will not be paying them.

As much as I want to say they deserve it, they are taking American's jobs and allowed to do so. Denver should wake up before it's too late but sadly, it will have to get worse before it gets better.

once the backlash is over, and the appropriate people pay for their actions, then they can start getting back to normal

What a novel idea! I'm going to use this in my business. No worry about unemployment insurance for fired employees..."No, they're still employed-I'm just not scheduling them any hours!"

I hope the denver workers vote (D) so they can take satisfaction in then getting exactly what they voted for.

If the workers voted differently, then what is happening to them is a clear injustice.

So, an I-9 form means nothing to the City of Denver.

Every time I think that the irony just can't get any better...

So, when Trump is re-elected, the Immigration Agents will be able to go after the City of Denver for employing illegals. That will be a hefty fine and possible prison time for those responsible. Since I don't live in Denver; Happy thought for the day!

The last place I worked at got hit with things like putting on your uniform before clocking in.
Granted all of the cases originated at the California stores but they still won and got money awarded to them.
