Sad reminder that even the most innocent calls/stops may not be what you think.

ETA I get being suckered into a sense of safety but I’ve heard too many horrible things and seen too many horrible things to let people approach me and/or my unit. I tell them to go stand somewhere safe, ie not next to me and I will approach them. I’ve had so many calls similar to this that I was on edge about that ended up fine but sadly this is a good reminder as to why we keep that mindset.

...Then it comes to be that the soothing light at the end of your tunnel, was just a freight train coming your way...

That is very sad. Just another fucking scumbag that should have never been back out on the streets.

HE's got that "felon shuffle" as he walks.
Hoodie = up to no good every time.
Every damn time.
The INSTANT he shuffled out, my warning bells went off.

He who fights with monsters might take care lest he thereby become a monster.

Yup. A running wild animal. No regard for people, their lives or property. I can never understand how some of us can read people, for lack of a better term, yet some, even those who met or knew the guy, won't let his behavior trigger their alarm. Life in prison is a free pass for this animal. Even the Trooper should have backed away and not so willingly offered him help. RIP Trooper. There certainly good LE work done to find this animal. Complex and a lot of details. They did good.

When the thug is walking up to the trooper's car his right hand is reaching into his jacket, that would be a big warning sign not to let him get too close.

Less than trash. The fitting end could only be deceased.

Depending on my schedule, I’m inclined to help stranded motorists at times, a good reminder.

Very sad indeed. I wish the ending was different as in him taking a dirt nap. I always kept that mindset If they were near me or going to sit in my car, they got patted down. And if they did not want to be, then off they went.

Because son, it is what you are supposed to do.
