My doc asked if I was cold yet. I said no. He said you will be just wait. Now I’m down 40 something pounds and I am freezing. Wool socks, wool slippers, and I still have to soak my feet in the tub. This is nuts.

What dosage? I am waiting for my 1st order of the highest dosage. The first two had zero impact on my Blood Sugar. Trulicity quit 2orking after about 13 years, then Ozempic worked for a couple of months and quit overnight. So, now 3rd step up in dosage of Mounjaro. Also take Glipizide and Jardiance.

Highest dose now. A1C went up from 5.7 to 6.2 in the last three months.

I just started 2nd dose up, 5.0. I don't weigh much and am sensitive to insulin. 132 pounds, 58YO. Mounjaro was way way better than Ozempic. I tried that years ago and was ill on it and lost way too much weight, down to 119. I stayed on 2.5 Mounjaro for about 32 doses and it curbed my appetite. Was disappointed in my last A1C, so bumped it up about 6 weeks ago. Lost 3 more pounds and feeling nauseated. It's tolerable. I do like it, just need to see my A1C respond. I eat little. Don't exercise on it as by BS will bomb when riding my road bicycle. Likely not enough carbs in my system. Libre sensor always stays in range. My experience before Mounjaro was that I ate, numbers when high, Mealtime insulin started a roller coaster. Basil Insulin didn't control the spikes. Mounjaro eliminated the spikes and the appetite, but not near the nausea compared to Ozempic. I'm a brittle Type 2, borderline Type 1. I don't want to be tethered to a pump, still have high hopes for Mounjaro. Hoping for better results on next A1C, that matches what I'm seeing on Libre.

Everyday is a chemistry experiment on how to keep Libre in range. I know it's not the most accurate tool, but it does show me the most important trend.

I'm always in for hearing other perspectives.

Wait a minute. Isn't that A1C going in the wrong direction the way you said it?

^^^ I could be wrong, but I read it as because his A1c went up, so now doc put him on max dose.

Okay, thank you. That makes sense. I’m on Ozempic. I get blood tests but I don’t pay attention to the report. My doctor says whether everything is normal and I’m good with that.

He did tell me I should eat more grass fed meat for some reason. I told him I’ve been trying to find grass fed bacon.

No that’s not correct. I’ve been taking Mounjaro for several months, starting at a low dose and working up. 3 months ago my A1c was at 5.7
I see the doc this week so I had it tested again. It went up to 6.2
It’s only gone the wrong direction in the last 3 months. The lower doses of Mounjaro killed my appetite so that’s why it worked so well I guess. Maybe my body is getting used to the Mounjaro because my appetite is not as suppressed as it has been.
I snack on crap I shouldn’t and I’m lazy about sticking to the treadmill.
If I got back on the treadmill today I’d only be there for a few weeks because of an upcoming shoulder surgery.

I had a friend from HS who has always been a really big guy but he hit something like 390 lbs and the doc told him he was going to die before age 50 and he completely changed his diet and began exercising and went on this and lost 180(!) lbs

I remember he told me that the first one the doc put him on made him cold all the time so he switched him to another which did not.

My younger son almost died from diabetic ketoacidosis in 2020; had seizures, cognitive damage, lost half his field of vision. Thank God all the neuro stuff resolved. Now he's back to his extremely difficult Asperger's personality. Doesn't trust us, doesn't go to his doctor, doesn't check his glucose, doesn't take the Ozempic. He's 52. I've seen thousands, maybe tens of thousands of diabetic patients. The ones who did like he is doing had horrendous complications. We are at our wit's end.

Doc moved me to Monjaro, from Ozempic, said it would work better and it did, last A1C was 5.9, it hasn't been that low in a few years, we could never get it out of the high 6 to 7's. It had spiked up to almost 11 at one time.

Monjaro works, just on the low dose, now on 7.5 and moving it up to 10, he said as long as I wasn't having complications we'd keep moving it up.

The stomach issues from Ozempic are gone, nice to not have that side effect.

The reason the doc said I would be cold is because I’ve lost 40 pounds of insulation. He’s right. I just wish I could stop the feet from feeling like ice blocks.

Mind sharing the symptoms of your stomach issues? I had the shits and vomits at the same time a couple of times last year. Told my doctor but he didn’t say it was Ozempic related. And the episodes were pretty extreme to give me concern.

That's great to hear. Apologies for presuming weight loss was the goal of you're taking it for other benefits.

No apology needed. It was twofold. Weight and sugar (diabetes). My sugar did hit around 11 at one point years ago. I’m 5’-10” and I was 228 when I started. I’m about 181 now.

So I am pre-diabetic. While on vacation last month I checked my fasting blood sugar with my dads glucose meter and was shocked to see 130-150 all week. I was on keto for a motnh prior.

went to my Doc after the vacation and my fasting blood sugar from the lab was 124 with a A1C of 5.8. I am happy that I did not get diagnosed with diabetes but I am having to get my blood sugar under control without any help.

Insurance wont pay for weight loss, but my doctor said that Mounjaro is a game changer!! glad it is working

None of that, just stomach cramps part of it making you feel full, more constipation than runs. You may need to be on a laxative if on Semiglutide...
