| Definitely not Frigidaire. Ours is ok, but has had occasional leaks & has a poorly located soap dispenser that can easily be blocked by dishes on the lower rack.

Prepared for the Worst, Providing the Best
| We bought the cheapest Amana I could find. It works fine, but has no bells and whistles. I put the dishes in it, fill the soap dispenser, close the door, press the start button, and walk away (I think it has 2 or 3 wash options, but I've only ever used the one). When it's done, I take the clean dishes out and put them away. Occasionally I need to clean the screen and the trap.
That's all I expect out of a dishwasher, and so far this one has been satisfactory. My theory is that simpler is better and more reliable as there's less to go wrong. If it ever stops working, it's less complicated and easier to fix, and if I can't do that I can get another one for a couple of hundred bucks. If it was up to me we wouldn't have one at all and just make the kids clean the dishes, but my wife wanted it and it makes her happy, so I'm happy. |
