I used to laugh to myself when I saw my dad eating cold cereal for supper and even sometimes at lunch....Well I am not laughing now because I can enjoy a good bowl of cereal with a couple slices of toast or bacon on the side dang near every night my wife will allow me to do so.... She says it is because I am addicted to the sugar in the cereal which might be true...But it sure is good....Wheaties with a good ripe banana tonight....and of course a sprinkle of table sugar....Mark

If it did not put on so much weight, I would make a 2 cup serving of Cream-O-Wheat or Maypo made with whole milk, dark brown sugar and buttered toast. Yeah, the whole 2 cups. (Or a mixing bowl of Cap'n Crunch, Froot Loops, Quisp, Quake, Cocoa Crispies... .... .... ) When I was a younger man and could outrun a calorie in my sleep.... I still have my girlish figure, but I gotta keep an eye on it, or it will whore around with all manner of "eat me" stuff. Monkey - I LOVE Cream of Wheat....Being born in Ohio and having parents from WV, I grew up on Crean of Wheat...Moved to MS when I was 5 years old and no one around here knew about Cream of Wheat....It was all about GRITS.... I love cooking up a batch of Cream of Wheat from time to time - brings back childhood memories.....Mark

Nothing wrong with breakfast for supper. My wife finds it funny but I've had hot or cold cereal, eggs and potatoes, french toast, pancakes, etc.. It's all good! ____________________________________________________________ Money may not buy happiness...but it will certainly buy a better brand of misery A man should acknowledge his losses just as gracefully as he celebrates his victories Remember, in politics it's not who you know...it's what you know about who you know

I cooked one of my favorite breakfasts for dinner last night; pan fried leftover baked potato, chopped up with onion and celery. Happened to have some leftover smoked ham, so cubed it up and added to the mix. Just before it's ready, I scrambled a couple of eggs in the center of the pan. Sorry for the thread drift because it ain't cold cereal, but man it was delicious!

I've been known to have cold cereal for dinner at times. Rice Krispies with a banana. But for a little more effort, I really prefer Cream of Wheat. .....never marry a woman who is mean to your waitress.

LOL My second wife was a GRITS, She was from Tupalo Missispi (right above Onebelow). She told me "Cream-O-wheat is jest old worn out grits..." and tried to make me eat them corn particles with cheese and salted! We did not make it more than a couple of years. (of course, there were "other southern" reasons...) I still do not eat grits. "the meaning of life, is to give life meaning" ✡ Ani Yehudi אני יהודי Le'olam lo shuv לעולם לא שוב!

When I was young and at home, my parents and I often had a supper of waffles with maple syrup, bacon or sausage, scrambled eggs, and toast or biscuits. At my age (81) I go to Waffle House and have the same meal for supper. (When I was young, eggs in the morning didn't set well in my stomach--now that I'm older it's not a problem.) flashguy Texan by choice, not accident of birth

I use to know a guy that had cold cereal for dessert right after a regular dinner. I think it was sugar smacks with regular milk, had it every night.

I loved cereal when I was a kid, now it does nothing for me. It does nothing to suppress hunger and after eating it I’m hungry again so I don’t eat it anymore.
