Group Buy TSProf Knife Sharpeners Prices/Inventory Posted!
Mine arrived today. I have not even opened the box yet. Work kept me busy in the morning, followed by a trip to the garden center, followed by a trip to Lowes for some plumbing parts for a new sink I installed this afternoon.
Tomorrow is another day.
I have a few cheap knives to practice on.
ETA. Setup was very straightforward. I had watched a couple of videos last week to get familiar with the process.
I took a really crappy knife and was able to get a nice edge on it. The digital angle gauge is very helpful.
Over time, I am confident I'll be able to get good edges on all my blades. This message has been edited. Last edited by: Patrick-SP2022, March 06, 2022 09:54 AM

Mine arrived on Saturday. After watching a few videos, I started with several crappy knives on Sunday. Those turned out pretty good so I moved up to the Wusthof classic steak knives tonight.
Setting an exact angle is a bit futzy using an angle finder. Overall I'm really impressed with the results. Mine don't look quite as good as Grumpy's example, but close enough for me . I just used the plates it came with (no leather strop) and they're sharper than they've ever been. I'll get better with practice and time.

As for correctly zeroing the angle cube & Kadet as well as setting the thickness compensator to the first stone (all of which is crucial) is in this video. 4:30 in will get you to the setup point. Never, never forget to reset the thickness compensator to each stone even if they’re new. Getting in the habit each time will ensure a consistent edge. Over time some stones will wear faster or receive more use and the thickness will not be consistent for all stones. Strops as well.
