I'm the opposite--green beans are my favorite vegetable. Although I prefer them flavored with some kind of pork.

cheesegrits, I'm with you on the beets (but I suspect we'd disagree on many other dishes--I despise both cheese and grits).

Never a fan.

Then my new SIL whipped this up a year ago for Christmas. Made homemade cream of mushroom soup, then sautéed a bunch of varied fresh beans, sautéed some onions and who knows what else, put it all together and it was INCREDIBLE!

Granted, he had about $10 and an hour plus in the prep, but it was not your mom's crank-and-plop casserole!

I love cheese, grits, and cheese grits. And green bean casserole. I tolerate beets if I gotta (beats... being hungry), but they taste like dirt. Rutabagas too.

Like Anthony Bourdain, I love eating high brow and low brow food. Extreme examples, I can eat at The French Laundry in Napa (6 years ago, insanely good) or Spagos in Beverly Hills, but I also don't mind the occasional McDonalds or Dominos. And I like a decently made green bean casserole (frozen or fresh beans) during Thanksgiving. It all tastes good to me.

My exwife loved it. That wasn't the main reason why I divorced her, but it's in the top five.

Ate this and the other staple casseroles of the mid-west throughout my youth.

Thankful that I haven’t had to eat them in many many years.

You haven’t seen the Bourbon, what’s in your glass tonight and many “dinner with protection“ threads?

I enjoy green bean casserole, especially if there's bunch of grated good cheddar on top....I absolutely despise beets.

I miss driving through Haddonfield. Nothing where I live now comes close to the history of places like the Indian King Tavern.

A staple at our Thanksgiving meal. I pass. Most dishes made with canned ingredients are disgusting to me not to mention the usually high sodium content. And although I like sweet potatoes baked, the casserole with marshmallows on top never sees my dinner plate.
