Accepted a new job this morning, starting 11/1.
13 years with my current company, but this was an opportunity I couldn't pass up.

Moving from IT in the oilfield industry,to a heavy equipment service company in a management role.

Good thoughts & payers appreciated, it's a little scary of a change, but I'm excited to get it going.

Congrats! I wish you well.

Is the drive to the new office going to be manageable as the old drive?

Fully remote, with a bit of travel.
So, the commute is from bed to my kitchen Big Grin

That's great!

Often, the commute in Houston traffic is the most stressful part of the day. For example, I home officed today and the stress free 25 yard commute was great.

And your commute is less than half of my current drive.
I'll have a bit of travel, but not a lot, at least initially. Mostly for closing larger jobs where it makes more sense to meet in person.

If you value your waistline you might want to
rethink that Kitchen office! LOL

Congratulations on the new job, since the weather is
about to turn, sounds like a great time to sit on your
back porch, burn a cigar and work from there!

You'll do fine. IT is all about problem solving. Much of management's responsibility is problem solving. You'll just be doing it in a different way now Big Grin

What did you do in IT if you don't mind me asking?

Now for the important question - how are you going to celebrate this occasion? New motorcycle, new gun, or other?
