Sending a PM to other members for a new member.

I just joined tonight as I was trying to PM a member that is particularly knowledgeable on P210's but it won't let me access their profile page since I'm so new. Is there any way around this? Wanting to find more out about a P210 for sale and don't really want to air this out to the entire Sig forum lol.

Change your message title using the edit feature and include " paging xyzMember" they can likely see your profile and contact you via email...

Any members registered after 3/22/22 cannot access other members' Profile page. You'll need to put your email in your Profile page, post in the WTS ad and ask the seller to contact you via email. PM function is not enabled on SF.

Wow you guys sure are inviting. I'm a collector and master class NRA bullseye shooter which I'm going to go out on a limb and say you're not. I've been a part of various forums for 25 years or more and this may be the first one that hasn't allowed PM's.

Para is the owner of SigForum.

Members have been burned by people coming in and just using the classifieds. There is a long history of these things.

Your 1st post set off red flags...

He frowns on folks joining just to use the classified section to sell and buy their goods and not being a participant in the community here first.

SigForum is a great place and Para is protective of his forum and the members.

Well, there are NO P210s for sale here, and no WTS listings even mentioning 'P210' going back to April 2021 where one might be available. It 'could' be that the P210 that the OP seeks is for sale elsewhere, or he could have been searching the WTB listings and identified a member that had one (or more!) that was offered. There have been multiple discussions in SIG Pistols re: P210s, so it 'could' be as simple as the OP wants to contact a member that seemed particularly knowledgeable on the P210.

He should probably 'air this out' a little more clearly so that he may find what he seeks. Doing so would remove all questions and either reveal innocent intentions, or a potential scammer. It could be an interesting discussion that others who are 'particularly knowledgeable' could contribute to as well. After all, we are SIGforum!

Weird that you haven’t run across this one yet, then.. it’s been around longer than that, and pops up pretty quick in my searches on any computer. That limb you climbed out on may snap if you aren’t mindful.

It’s wise to read and follow along the discourse for a bit, get the feel, so to speak. This isn’t a buy/sell site. It’s sort of a family, I s’pose, and I suspect the guys here want to get to know you a touch before they sell you a gun.

Not wanting to air things out about a P210 is the opposite of the reason the Forum exists.

Yes, there’s a way to work around the lack of a PM function:

Start a thread in the SIG Pistols section and ask your questions there.

You are correct. I'm looking at a very high quality P210-6 on another site and hoping to garner more info to make an informed purchase. I however don't need anymore more competition from other buyers which is why I didn't want to post a thread on the matter.

It's not uncommon for a few Glocks to be bought or sold here.
Pets are discussed often but most of us couldn't hit a bullseye if we tried, unless it was an accident. At least speaking for myself.
