I appreciate that. They will be fine. They are mostly in the country and on the Brittany beaches. Hopefully the airports aren't affected when it comes time for me to travel over there.

corsair2005 France riots all over again.
Just like before, some youths of a foreign background, get caught doing some criminal mischief, gets the attention of authorities, 'resistance' happens, death occurs, riots kick-off.
These low-income, ethnic enclaves, slums, are on the outskirts of the major metro-areas. Unlike in the US, European cities are the haven of the wealthy and well-to-do, while the suburbs or, the
banlieues are where the projects are, public housing zones. Usually they're next to airports, rail yards, warehouse areas, sea ports, along major freeways.

The media, as usual, merely says the "victim" failed to comply. A bit of an understatement.
And Macron is going to say if the "victim" had more support from everyone, the response wouldn't have happened.
"It did not really matter what we expected from life, but rather what life expected from us. We needed to stop asking about the meaning of life, and instead to think of ourselves as those who were being questioned by life – daily and hourly. Our answer must consist not in talk and meditation, but in right action and in right conduct. Life ultimately means taking the responsibility to find the right answer to its problems and to fulfill the tasks which it constantly sets for each individual." Viktor Frankl, Man's Search for Meaning, 1946.

Fell off a truck in Marseille.
In all seriousness, Marseille for a time '50-80's was the hot-bed of arms sales. France was involved with a number coups in Africa, along with all the trade coming out of Africa into Europe, arms smuggling was big business, and Marseille was the crossroads. Since the 90's arms coming out of the Balkans have proliferated throughout the European black-market.

Oh. right.
Even without guns they are showing more fight about immigration and increasing the working age than Americans have. We’re talking about the French populace having more gumption than the American public which is unbelievably sad.
What you have to take into consideration is the riots in the US were without exception coordinated by leftist globalist garbage in sanctioned democRAT strongholds. Things might go a little differently if they choose their targets… unwisely.

France Deploys 'Armored Military Vehicles' To Combat Nationwide Riots
https://www.zerohedge.com/geop...preading-third-nightThere are reports of "Tactical units driving through the streets of Marseille."
French interior minister, Gérald Darmanin, said overnight chaos has resulted in 2,000 cars burned, 500 buildings damaged, hundreds of businesses looted, and violent clashes with police. He said over 800 people were arrested, with nearly 250 officers injured.
Earlier, Macron blamed social media for fueling 'copycat violence,' and said state agencies would ask Twitter, Snapchat, and Tiktok to ban the most "sensitive content."
Riots and vandalism continued throughout the day Friday. Darmanin said buses and trams would be shut down by 9 pm local time nationwide to suppress the overnight unrest.

corsairFrance has a lot of problems with its sizable immigrant communities and post-colonial activities.
They exist in a parallel world, while welcomed for their low-cost labor and checking all sorts of feel-good humanitarian boxes, there's not a lot of civil rights protections. Discrimination and shaming for not 'speaking French or, acting French' is pretty common, plenty of cultural points of friction. What happens when a country takes-in a population but, that population doesn't assimilate very well or, not at all?
The Dutch had to deal with this during the 1970's as South Moluccan youths (Indonesian) terrorized the Netherlands with shootings on trains, taking hostage taking and taking over the Indonesian embassy.
Macron is now blaming social media and video game....good grief. We know social media fans the flames but, video games? Marie Le Pen has to be rubbing her hands waiting to pounce as the country goes through nearly a week of Floyd-type stupidity.

Sig2340France has lost its collective mind, and it’s just going to get worse for a while.
The riots and violence are reaching new levels, one that requires a near-authoritarian crackdown to stop before they get an Arab spring of their own. The French police, who are solid men and women might not have the resources to stuff this genie back into its lamp. It may take deploying the Army.

They're with the in-laws. I'm not overly concerned at the moment.
The Tour de France starts today. I wonder how the current riots will affect the race. Well, we shall see. As it were though, the race spends the first few days in Spain.

Fourth night of demonstrations sees 45,000 police deployed as authorities claim the situation is calmer
French riots – latest updates

More than 1,300 people were arrested in a fourth night of violence in France after the police shooting of a 17-year-old boy.
Forty-five thousand police officers, including special forces, were deployed to respond to rioting across the country on Friday night, with the situation in two big cities – Marseille and Lyon – highlighted as particularly chaotic, with buildings and vehicles torched and stores looted.
The ministry of the interior reported 1,311 people were arrested overnight, while 79 police officers and gendarmes were injured and 2,500 fires were recorded.
The unrest flared nationwide after Nahel M, a 17-year-old of Algerian and Moroccan descent, was shot by police on Tuesday during a traffic stop in a Paris suburb. His death, caught on video, has reignited longstanding complaints of police violence and racism.
The 38-year-old officer involved in the shooting, who has said he fired the shot because he feared he and his colleague or someone else could be hit by the car, has been charged with voluntary homicide and placed in provisional detention.
The funeral ceremony for Nahel began on Saturday with a visitation, and will be followed by a mosque ceremony and burial in a cemetery in Nanterre.
The ministry said the protests were “of a lower intensity compared with the previous night”.
From another website is the video of the shooting that sparked it all.
