Mmmm….yeah, I think so. I’ve been re-reading the Patrick O’Brian Aubrey/Maturin novels. Dr. Maturin got the opium monkey off his back, but through the rest of the series swears by the benign but potent stimulative—or in his words, “roborative”—powers of chewing the coca leaf. I had a friend, now sadly passed too soon, who was in Peru at very high altitude; exhausted and unable to go on. Was given some local tea to drink, and by golly he was just fiiiiinnnne after that. _________________________ “Remember, remember the fifth of November!"

I don't know about Fiiiiinnnne, but it sure settled down my tummy while in Bolivia. learned you have to include the ash to have the effect. Coca tea is great but the kids would probably smoke it here.

I'm with you. Can't stand the rooibos swill. I'm in the darjeeling, ceylon, oolong loose tea camp. Certifiable member of the gun toting, septuagenarian, bucket list workin', crazed retiree, bald is beautiful club! USN (RET), COTEP #192

For a very good, basic tea, Tetley British Blend (purple box) is very good.

My everyday tea is classic green tea by bígelow. I do like English, oolong, etc, and I’ll have to look at these others, but for basic green, bigelow doesn’t have a bitter taste (imho). __________________________ "Trust, but verify."

I'm a massive tea fan. If you ever get the chance to try Oolong from Taiwan, it will change your life, and ruin you on other teas. Preparing tea this way, is extremely relaxing and I do it every evening with my wife and a friend. https://goodteaplace.com/blogs...-taiwan-tea-ceremony SIG556 Classic P220 Carry SAS Gen 2 SAO SP2022 9mm German Triple Serial P938 SAS P365 FDE P322 FDE Psalm 118:24 "This is the day which the Lord hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it"
