I drink "Cape Cods" and "Vodka Sodas" occasionally during the summer, when I want something lighter and more refreshing than beer.

Cape Cod consists of:
-Cranberry juice
-Vodka
-Splash of lime juice
Served in a highball glass with ice.

Vodka Soda consists of:
-Soda water
-Vodka
-Several splashes of lime juice
Served in a rocks glass with ice.

I also occasionally drink "Bloody Marys". When I make my own, it consists of:
-Spicy V8 juice
-Vodka
-Shot of pickle juice
-Generous application of Frank's Red Hot sauce
-Drop or two of Worchestershire sauce
-Sprinkle of Tajin seasoning
Serve well-stirred in a pint glass with ice, and garnish with a pickle spear and/or a stalk of celery

Personally, I prefer old school Eastern European potato vodkas over the typical modern wheat vodkas, or corn vodkas like Titos. The vodka that I keep on hand at home is Luksusowa. It's a reasonably priced, decent quality Polish potato vodka that's been around for 100 years.

White Russian/Black Russian

Rock Glass
Ice
2-3 shots vodka
1 shot Kahlua
Half and Half

With the half and half, it's a White Russian. Without the half and half, Black Russian.

Another for the Moscow Mule.
Glass full of ice
6 oz of ginger beer
1.5-2 oz Vodka
1 oz lime juice.

Best out of a traditional copper mug, but they go down really well in a regular glass too.

"The people hate the lizards and the lizards rule the people."
"Odd," said Arthur, "I thought you said it was a democracy."
"I did," said Ford, "it is."
"So," said Arthur, hoping he wasn't sounding ridiculously obtuse, "why don't the people get rid of the lizards?"
"It honestly doesn't occur to them. They've all got the vote, so they all pretty much assume that the government they've voted in more or less approximates the government they want."
"You mean they actually vote for the lizards."
"Oh yes," said Ford with a shrug, "of course."
"But," said Arthur, going for the big one again, "why?"
"Because if they didn't vote for a lizard, then the wrong lizard might get in."

Then there's the good old Bloody Mary. Jigger of vodka, 6-10 oz of tomato juice or V8 depending how boozy you want it, (the more juice the milder it tastes) hot sauce to taste, a bit of worcestershire sauce, squeeze of lime, stick a celery stick in there to use as a mixer as well as to munch on. S&P to taste.

Those are good. A Colorado Bulldog is nice, it's a white Russian with Coke added

Vodka can make some great cocktails, maybe even the best.
The wife loves Chocolate Martinis - I like about everything but Coffee/Expresso Martinis are especially good if you want something flavored.
The main ingredients besides the vodka are Mr. Black Coffee Liquor, Coffee/Expresso.
Delicious.

Another recommendation on the mule. My go to is Tito’s and Fevertree ginger beer. It has biggest ginger kick and tingles the lips.

I always wanted to try a Vesper, the drink James Bond ordered with specific instructions in Casino Royal.

“Three measures of Gordon’s, one of vodka, half a measure of Kina Lillet. Shake it very well until it’s ice-cold, then add a large thin slice of lemon peel. Got it?”

Though I believe most bartenders would recommend stirring a cocktail drink rather than shaking it.

Ingredients:
3 ounces gin
1 ounce vodka
1/2 ounce Lillet blanc aperitif
Garnish: lemon twist

Add the gin, vodka and Lillet blanc into a mixing glass with ice and stir until well-chilled.

Strain into a chilled cocktail glass.

Express the oils from a lemon twist over the drink, rub the twist along the rim of the glass and drop it into the cocktail.

You know, I think I might just try that.

I'll also jump in on the Moscow Mule. Simple to prepare, tasty, and refreshing.

I occasionally make these drinks as a change of pace from martinis. I use Cocchi Americano instead of Lillet and also add just a small dash of orange bitters. Next to martinis and manhattans, my favorite cocktail.

Para, congrats on passing 100,000 posts!!! That deserves a drink Cool

When I hunt in Montana just before Thanksgiving, I make this because it's cold outside.

Brew a pot of Earl Grey Tea
Melt a little honey in the tea
Add a squirt fresh lemon
Add some Vodka

I've made this for so many years that I no longer measure, and I usually make this in a large double wall steel drink bottle, or in a coffee mug.

To share this with you, I pulled out some measuring spoons.

4oz Tea
1 teaspoon Honey melted in the tea
1/2 oz Lemon juice. (Hunting tip, when running short on Lemons I will zest the peals into the 1st couple of drinks and save the juice for the next few rounds)
2 oz Vodka

===

Bloody Mary
Master of Mixes makes several cocktail products, including four different Bloody Mary mixes. Their "5 Pepper Bloody Mary Mix" is my favorite.

Start with 1oz Vodka to 3oz "5 Pepper" Mix then play around with the ratios until you find what is right for your tastes.

===

I think you are in the SE part of the country where Summer peaches are just glorious things to behold!

Peach Vodka
Combine following in a mixing glass filled with ice. Shake and strain into drinking glass over ice.
2oz fresh Peach Juice (in the Winter when fresh peaches are not available. Peach syrup, strained peach puree, or frozen peaches put through the blender works)
1oz fresh Lemon Juice (I've also made this without the lemon juice which eliminates it being a little sour)
2oz Vodka

Any fruit works with this recipe.

===

I've also soaked bowls of fresh fruit in Vodka (Watermelon spears, or Guava slices, or cubes of Pineapple, Plumb quarters) as well as adding Vodka to a fresh fruit salad.

Another vote for Moscow Mule. Muddle lime and fresh mint, add ice, vodka, ginger beer (I prefer Goya as it's the spiciest) and simple syrup. Garnish with lime and/or mint.

I'm also a fan of frozen mudslides if you have a good blender. Equal parts vodka, kahula and baileys with ice cream and milk/cream. Drizzle the inside of a glass with chocolate syrup and pour the mixture in to keep the design in place.

I forget if it's called "'Sip/Skip/or Strip'and Go Naked".
In a pitcher combine
1 pint vodka
4-6 light American lagers
1 12oz. can frozen (pink or whatever) lemonade concentrate.
Crushed ice to cut sweetness if necessary.

Not as fancy as some drinks already mentioned but not bad for 3 ingredients.

I like Vodka, Limoncello and lemonade. It is a sweet drink, you can start out equal parts of each. Then tweak it to your tastes.

1 cup vodka, 3 cups ginger beer. Squirt some simple syrup, garnish with mint & a slice of lime. Easy to make, delicious to consume. I recommend Q ginger beer which can be bought at Publix. Beware anything too sweet.
