long story short, I have hired a guy to help me list items on Gunbroker and Ebay

I have allowed them to use my phone (Pixel 7 Pro, using Verizon) however that did not work out,
too many incoming calls , and the need to have some outgoing calls as well,

my laptops are running chrome, and the phone is synced with them,

we have tried the guys Iphone, but for a couple reasons, mostly user related, they don't work as well as intended,

and my old digital camera is 15 yrs old, works well, but not like the Pixel

so, plan is to upgrade to a Pixel 10 Pro or Pro XL (no interest in samsung or motorola, and definitely no iphone_) and would like to keep the 7pro as a camera, hopefully being able to use thru wifi to connect to the laptops,



question is, is that (using the non phone, phone, ) as a camera and have it connect to the wifi etc??

It should work fine as a camera and wifi will still work. I have repurposed old cell phones for a backup camera monitor for RV, poor man's dashcam and security cam. All the software for that had to be downloaded via WiFi.

You want to keep the 7pro just with no cell service? It should be fine.

I have a 1st generation iPhone on my desk that still works fine without cell service. Not that I use it for much other than checking IR emitters.

re the Iphone, I have an Ipad Touch, which IIRC, is the 1st gen iphone less the phone part,

It will work fine. Keep your Google account logged in and the photos will go to Google Photos.

My trail camera system has a nighttime photos flash module called "Black Flash" and the flash is invisible to humans and most animals.
My thoughts were, how do you tell the flash is operating?
The trail camera system directions said to have a cell phone camera app open and ready to take a photo.
Apparently a cell phone camera image sensor can "see" the "Black Flash" and it will show up on the cell phone screen.

Rumor has it that you can use it in your darkened Hotel/Cruise Cabin, VRBO,etc to look for hidden cameras with IR illumination. Never tried it. I mean my hidden cameras don't have IR illumination
