Tomorrow headed over the Atlantic for the second time in a week. This time in one of these.

Sadly headed back on a 787-8.

Nice. Never been in one.

Always scares me a bit seeing the onboard navigation. Over land no problem. We hit the coast and I’ve got 4 hours over nothing but water. I start thinking sharks, etc. Then I get over it Big Grin

What am I doing? I'm talking to an empty telephone

Nice airplane.
If ya gotta fly across the pond, that's the way to do it.

No freaking kidding.

I get to do it next week and back the week after that, only I’ll be on a 757 in the “fancy” cattle section (premium economy). My fat ass would die in the cheap cow seats, but it ain’t business class, let alone business jet.

Color me all kinda of jealous.

Nice. I'm old enough to remember when twins didn't fly long routes over oceans.

Not many people know who he was. I've got his autograph along with a lot of other now forgotten early aviators.

The 787-8 on the return isn't bad as far as commercial air travel is concerned.

Private is the way to go. I had one client with a King Air, and he flew us around Texas a couple of times for a case. Beat the hell out of driving, and flying commercial to those little airports isn't even always possible.

Much nicer than in a single seat, single engine jet where the in flight meal is a sandwich in a shoebox on the console next to the ejection seat and the restroom is a plastic bag in the leg pocket of your g-suit. Wink

Reminds me of the story about the C-130 that was droning along at 290 kts when an F-16 appeared along side. The fighter pilot keyed his mike and transmitted, "Hey, watch this!" He then commenced to execute a series of aerobatic maneuvers in the vicinity of the C-130, and then asked, "How 'bout that?"

The C-130 pilot replied, "Not bad. Now watch this!" as he continued to drone along, straight and level, for five or six minutes, then asked the fighter pilot, "What do you think about that?"

Fighter pilot was a bit puzzled, and asked "Huh? What did you do?"

C-130 pilot said, "I got up, went back to take a leak, and got myself a cup of coffee and a sandwich."

Just got back from China, 16 hour flight.

Company paid for business class though, so not bad.
