I could accept his being a nice but naive guy who was out of his depth. I could accept his later activities as a humanitarian and a kind of elder statesman.
It is amusing to me when I hear people say about Jimmy- "oh, he was a terrible President, but a kind, decent human being otherwise".
Everything I read and heard about the guy from Secret Service agents, past assistants and cabinet folks, etc. was that he was the smiling, home-spin man in public, but when the cameras and lights shut off, he was an aloof, arrogant asshole; next to Hillary, perhaps the most disliked person in the Secret Service realm. As POTUS, his stupidity and arrogance in Iran were instrumental in creating the current Islamic terrorism clusterfuck we now have in today's modern world. And as an ex-president, his facade of hammering nails into house frames could not hide the fact that he was an anti-semite, pro-palestinian commie who would give the thumbs up on many of the most corrupt elections in third world countries, yet emphatically state that the 2020 U.S. election was above board and 100% honest. And let's not forget him brokering the North Korea deal for Bill Clinton, giving them billions in cash, military technology, etc. all in exchange that they will promise not to develop nukes
.
Jimmy Carter needs to go away and join his wife, a kinder demise than he deserves.
