My basement's concrete floor was never finished all that well to begin with, and 70 years of use hasn't improved matters any. I have an old computer chair that I use at my hobby bench in said basement and while it (sort of) rolls around, it sure would be nice to have something that rolled better and changed directions more easily. I'm thinking larger casters and softer treads of rubber or some other material would help. Sort of an ATC - All Terrain Chair. Maybe something designed for shop or garage use. Not seeing anything on Amazon that jumps right out at me. Experience/Suggestions? Be careful when following the masses. Sometimes the M is silent.

How about mixing up a batch of self leveling concrete to smooth things out? It can be used from 0 up to about 1/2” if I remember correctly. ------------------ Eddie Our Founding Fathers were men who understood that the right thing is not necessarily the written thing. -kkina

Rubber casters for computer chairs https://www.amazon.com/Slipsti...s=home-garden&sr=1-8 If not, what about a chair mat? https://www.amazon.com/Hardwoo...tector/dp/B07DPSDQT7 My sister used a tap-dancing floor at her apartment. Not sure how those will work out on a hard floor as they had teeth on the bottom to grip carpet. Maybe look into one of those DIY garage floor coatings that you pour out of a bucket. My friend did his whole garage. Seems pretty easy.

I hear radio commercials frequently for this product, although I don't have personal experience with it. Vitrazza glass mats I think Amazon carries this product.

https://www.amazon.com/Traxion...TG9nQ2xpY2s9dHJ1ZQ== I don't know if that link will work. I've used several of them in shops; traxion progear wheeled chairs. They have bigger wheels so they don't tip if I hit an air hose or an object on the ground, and the round plastic tray is handy for tools and parts. It's ajustable up and down. It's not really desk height, but perfect for a lot of shop stuff. I've had several shops buy them to put on the shop floor, too; they're comfortable and everyone loves the big wheels.

Hmmmm. That might be a good solution and it's certainly the easiest. $14 after various coupons and points accrued. Worth a shot. Thanks. Be careful when following the masses. Sometimes the M is silent.

I put roller blade castors on my office chair and two stools... I love them as they roll so much nicer on my laminate floors than the standard hard plastic office chair wheels. __________________________ More blessed than I deserve. http://davesphotography7055.zenfolio.com/f238091154

drop and give me 20 pushups |
you might also do something about refinishing / or covering the floor area where the the chair would be used. over a period of time the not so smoothe area will have a tendency to wear on the rolling surface of the wheels ................... drill sgt.

I do the same with the roller blade casters. Have nice hardwood floors on second floor office. The plastic casters that came stock with chair were too loud on the floor as well. Buy the higher end ones with thicker profiles...they may be better on your bumpy surface. _____________________________ Pledge allegiance or pack your bag! I ordered those roller blade casters from Amazon. They came in today. HORRY SHEET! They're PERFECT! One little push with my foot and I roll all the way across the room. Smooth as a baby's butt. Thanks for the tip Paten! Be careful when following the masses. Sometimes the M is silent.

$30 for the set of 5. I looked REAL closely at that before I ordered, suspecting the same thing. Be careful when following the masses. Sometimes the M is silent.
