The Ultimate Game Pass is a great way to try a ton of games. If you do not have it, you can or could load up on up to 3 years of the regular Gold game pass which can often be found heavily discounted then convert to Ultimate for just $1. I’d check to see if that’s possible if you are not on Ultimate already.

My Xbox sees more use as our streaming platform. I like that my regular remotes can turn it on. I could not do that with the PS.

Where do I find heavily discounted Gold cards? 1 yr seems to be $59.99 everywhere, maybe $55.99 on Amazon. Or is that the heavily discounted price vs the shorter options?

Yeah it looks like my under 5 MPS end of the tail DSL shitty internet will be getting a workout this weekend. Just put in Red Dead Redemption 2. 1st disc looks like it’ll be about an hour or a little more, then disc two. Dumbass me didn’t know there were 2 discs so when I pulled it (them) out and tried to feed them in that didn’t go so well. That’s me, break it on the maiden run.

Today I picked up GTA5, 212K golf, NASCAR Heats and Battlefield 2042. I used to play tons of Battlefield 1942 & Vietnam on PC back in the day.

You nailed it. We occasionally have some good series we watch but often have to hold or nose from the wokeness but this will be better filler between those shows than fake news or most everything else.

Yeah, we bought Need For Speed-Unbound, FIFA 23, CoD MWII. and Madden 23 on disc thinking we'd just pop them in and play them, but no. We went over our data cap downloading the actual games. I had no idea we had a cap until then. Not exactly a great Christmas gift when you can't play until the next day.

Yeah, even when the base game can be copied over from the disc, every game nowadays has gigabytes of updates and patches. Even on Day 1 of release.

I keep an eye on Dealighted or Slickdeals websites. Just make sure the source is well reviewed. The latest ones have been $49/yr but better sales occasionally pop up

I think that details the conversion once you max out your Gold sub but I think I got an offer from Microsoft to convert for $1
