Most hid/led head lights and taillights are pretty expensive.

My F250 work truck got the passenger side mirror knocked off. No other damage just a simple bolt on exchange. I got three quotes, all between $1500 & $1800.

I just did a quick Google search on average price of a 2023 Ford F150. Cargurus came back with $68K. I don't know if that included the Ford F150 Lightning or not. I also do not know if that was for new or used. I have read articles previously stating that the average retail price for a Ford F150 was now north of $50K.

I believe that Ford as well as the other automakers have adopted the Apple business model of targeting the top 10% of consumers in terms of income. It's worked for Apple quite well.

However, Apple backs up its products with stellar quality and customer service. Ford, not so much.

We'll see how all this shakes out over the next 24 months or so.

I replaced a tail light assembly on my Tacoma pickup. It cost me 68 dollars and I installed it in about three minutes.

It had bulbs in it and everything!

This is exactly why I refused to consider the upgrades on my last truck. Absolutely no bliss, no LED nothing, no climate control. Truck with cruise control please, hold the technology.

I had to replace a headlight housing on my Taurus a couple years ago and the SHO-specific housing was $1700; however, I can't make a leap from that for an additional $4000 for an F-150 taillight. That's insane.

And, you know, I get in my truck, crank the engine, put it in gear and I can drive it to where I need to go. How about that? No 90,000 cost, no Goddamn 6000 dollar tail lights. It's a bloody miracle, I tell ya.

When it rains, I'm dry. In the summer, I'm cool. In the winter, I'm warm. It's got headlights so I can drive at night. I guess I just got lucky...

I just spent $8 on two bulbs for my turn signal on my Jeep.

Some of the dumbest shit that you just don't need, but think you want on all of these new cars. "Front and rear radar" what the hell do I need with that? "Lane warning"? "Heated & air conditioned seats"? "Navigation"?

All shit that we really don't need. I won't how we made it up to and out of the 1970's!
Kids with BB guns and playgrounds made of metal? Sitting in the way back of the station wagon?
No power windows? I have to figure out how to deal with this map? Drink water out of a hose?

Again, it's a wonder how we made it this far...
