I'm surprised I had not seen this on the forum, if I missed it, sorry.

A women was set on fire earlier this week while riding a Chicago L train. The criminal who did it was captured. He was out on cashless bond.
His criminal record is astounding but not as astounding as the record of Judges that have let this POS out over and over again.

A series of accounts can be found on this link.
This source is about the only good news outlet in Chicago.

I’ve said this before, there’s LAYERS to this bullshit.
Police is one layer
States / District Attorneys Office is another
Judges are a third
Appellate Court is a fourth
Parole Board is the fifth

In a very liberal area like Chicago, Cook county and Illinois is what we’re dealing with.

Thanks for the link. I live about 35 miles from Chiraq and avoid it at all times. The media buries most of this, good to see a source that reports what a shit hole a once great city has become.

IndianaDave-
CWB is probably the ONLY media source for Chicago, everything else is just toting water for the Democratic machine.

Another good source is Chicago contrarian.
It’s all commentary, but it gives you an awesome view of what’s really going on.

My take ( having been a long suffering NY resident where policies and political climate are similar)

Until activist reform judges suffer personally from the bad decisions they make and policies they support, nothing will get better.

Judges are near monarchs in most places nearly untouchable in regards to consequences for their actions.

There really should be some sort of “legal malpractice” regulation that hits them hard.
But, since the vast majority of legislators are lawyers, won’t ever happen

Thank you CPD. I worked in the Loop from 1998-2004 and never really felt nervous about it. It has a whole different feel now, that's why i stay away.

I rode the L in the sixties. It was bad back then. If you don't have a car you do not have a choice. The route to O'Hare was good. The L was pure discrimation against the poor. The CTA was somewhat better. Back in my day the Red line was the worst.

Another article from the CWB website -

“Exclusive: Chief judge’s staff was repeatedly warned of CTA fire attacker’s electronic monitoring violations, records show”

https://cwbchicago.com/2025/11...ns-records-show.html

Some snips -

“The man accused of setting a woman on fire aboard a Blue Line train this week repeatedly violated his electronic monitoring program by leaving his home without permission for extended periods, CWBChicago has learned. And, records show, when Lawrence Reed randomly poured gasoline on the 26-year-old woman and set her ablaze on Monday night, he had been out of his home without permission for more than 12 hours.

The man, who has a history of arson cases, including fires set downtown, was arrested around midday in the Loop as he prepared to board a train near Clark and Washington.

Court records show prosecutors asked a Cook County judge to keep the suspect in custody after he was charged with aggravated battery causing great bodily harm in the suburbs this summer, but the judge rejected their request and put him on 24/7 electronic monitoring, according to court records.”

No words.

The level of incompetence, neglect and dereliction of duty is beyond comprehension.

Christmastime, maybe 1972 or 1973, Friday after-work party at a popular bar on LaSalle St, I had two Black Russians rather than my usual one, got on the west-bound Lake Street "L" headed for Oak Park. Around Cicero or Laramie three black teens get up to depart, one by himself, the other two together. The train jerks to a stop, the one accidentally bumps into the two, the door open and it's a race. The one guy in front by a few steps, got down to street level followed by the other two. I heard one shot just as the train doors close.

I think to myself, "Well, that was interesting".

After that, I switched to Coke with a slice of lime.

CWB Chicago is the only accurate news source we have in Chicago.
I can't read it everyday because the news stories and the back stories enrage me so much.

Its a good source for anyone inside Chicago or anywhere to accurately see whats going on in the Chicago area.
These stories are probably repeated in most all large metro areas that are DEM controlled but silenced by the local news sources.

Isn’t this a repeat of woman being burned to death in a subway last year???

"It did not really matter what we expected from life, but rather what life expected from us. We needed to stop asking about the meaning of life, and instead to think of ourselves as those who were being questioned by life – daily and hourly. Our answer must consist not in talk and meditation, but in right action and in right conduct. Life ultimately means taking the responsibility to find the right answer to its problems and to fulfill the tasks which it constantly sets for each individual." Viktor Frankl, Man's Search for Meaning, 1946.

Very sad state of affairs we have in this country where the scum get all of the breaks because liberal idiots/judges/politicians don't think it's fair to keep the violent ones in jail, so as to hurt their feelings. He already had numerous felonies of which he should not have seen the light of day period. It's just like the scum that stabbed the girl on the subway in NYC. He should have also been in prison and not allowed to see the light of day.
