Surely this thread will go off the rails. But in the dry season anyone do this? Does seem the provide relief. "Practice like you want to play in the game"

Not since my mom did that to me when I was 5.... Must be a northern thing, you get heat running in the houses and buildings, it dries you out... We have so much humidity here, nothing ever dries out.

No, but I use a little in my ears occasionally. The earpieces on my hearing aids irritate my ear canal. Be careful when following the masses. Sometimes the M is silent.

It's been a long time. One factor, is Houston is extremely humid so it's a rarity my nostrils dry out. However, on the few days a year we run the heater then I do begin to feel dry. Quite the contrast to the number of heating days I experienced living in Alaska and Canada 2009-2016. The 2nd factor is, I switched to saline gel called Rhinase that is purpose made for this and is rated for daily internal use. On the other hand, petroleum jelly does have hydrocarbons in it and I'd rather not put any more hydrocarbons in my body. If I were a betting man, I'd bet I switched to Rhinase gel after a Sigforum thread about CPAPs or winter nose bleeds. Never thought of doing that, but now I'm wondering if Hoppes #9 is soluble in petrolatum.

NEVER! Somewhat seriously (w/ just a hint of sarcasm) - I did NOT realize there was a ‘dry season’ in the PNW, and if I were to venture a guess as to when such low humidity conditions would/could occur, I’d lean towards winter being the likely calendar season (like pretty much anywhere else in the Northern Hemisphere), definitely not mid-spring, heading into Summer. ____________________________________________________________ If Some is Good, and More is Better.....then Too Much, is Just Enough !! Extreme winter dryness lead to nose bleeds, some that took a long time to stop. Just a little Vaseline eliminated the problem. I will have to get some Rhinase and try that. ... stirred anti-clockwise.

Sometimes. You can also use Neosporin if you suffer from dry nostrils. ...You, higher mammal. Can you read? ....There's nothing sexier than a well worn, functional Sig!

I use Ayr Saline Gel every night during the winter months. It definitely helps prevent nose bleeds. I apply it with a Q-tip in each nostril. __________________ Member NRA Member NYSRPA
