I’m not CPD, but I’m going to guess “no.” The bullet is lodged directly in between the slide and the frame. It also hit on the right side slide release. As far as having the gun repaired, a new frame and new slide release wouldn’t be hard to replace. But I’m not sure that the slide could be fixed so that it could hold up to duty use.

Short answer: No.
hit the slide release and that sweet spot between the slide and frame. Probably in need of a new gun.

Longer answer: That's Officer "B.Q's" Gun. (I don't want to toss his name out on the internet without his permission) I was drinking with him the night before. "Q" is a great guy, former Army Ranger and a pretty damn good cop. I was joking with him about 20 minutes before this incident. He was "supposed to" go to Mexico with his wife that night on vacation. His flight got pushed back 24hrs and he's there right now with his toes in the warm sand and a cold beer in his hand.

As far as his gun and holster: It's evidence as part of the crime scene for now. He get's a "Loner" gun from the Department until he can get a new gun & holster. I'm pretty sure he'll be taken care of on the price. I don't know what he's going to do with it when he gets it back. (Me? I'd probably put it in a frame and hang it on the wall)

Me too. A reminder of the one that had my name on it, until Messrs Smith and Wesson intervened.

Smith and Wesson and Safariland are both allegedly replacing both their products for him.

Thank you!
Please also remember the Dr. who’s only mistake was dating a fucking dipshit with severe anger management issues and problems with women.

A young Pharmacist, with a beautiful life ahead of her who just got off an elevator at the wrong time.

Young Daughters, who’s brave Father was taken from them.

A Wife who’s Husband will never walk through their front door again.

The ER staff who during a vioent situation, NEVER QUIT, NEVER GAVE UP, even when all was lost, and have to live with this for the rest of their lifes.

Us, well... We need it too.

CPD SIG, you and those who serve with are frquently thought of and lifted up in prayer by members of this SF family. In fact, we did so two nights ago when this terrible tragedy happened. Ironically, as I headed from Rush earlier tonight back to my home very near LaPorte, we heard a little more about the life of Dr O’Neal, who came from LaPorte. About Dayna Less, from St Johns. And last but not least, about Officer Sam Jimenez, who ran into danger to stop a threat and save lives.

Thanks for reminding all of us about the difficult jobs you LEO have, especially having to deal with the loss of a fellow officer, and the emotional aftermath of these senseless tragedies. Karen and I have LEO in our extended family, including a brother in county ERT/warrants, a city patrolman, and others. I’m thankful every day for men and women who choose this work.

In memoriam:

CPD COMMANDER Paul Bauer
EOW Feb 13 2018

CPD OFFICER Samuel Jimenez
EOW Nov 20 2018

And, the handful of CPD OFFICERS who took their own lives in 2018

I’ll be on the 14th floor at Rush in a few weeks. Come up and visit, we can annoy the nurses!
