We are buying a house. The house has this living room wall:

The wall is much wider than the goofy picture and that’s the current owner’s furniture.

Guess what my wife actually approved to put in the corners. I showed her a picture and she said they looked really nice. I’m dumbfounded.

Cigar store Indians!

You know, there’s a spot down stairs where a pinball machine or cigar store Indian would be great. We actually got into a bit of an argument about the gun safe, but we worked it out. That’s part of the reason I’m shocked she said yes to my next idea.

The ceiling is really high:

I hadn’t thought about GoGo dancers. I suppose there’s room, but I’d like to make 21 years of marriage. On the other hand, I thought my first idea had such a low WAF (Wife Approval Factor) that it would be shot down immediately. Maybe I should go for two? GoGo dancers would go great with what she approved.

Congrats. Personal finances is a quirky thing. We bought our first house at 3 years of marriage because the rent was going to be more than our mortgage.

That looks nice and spacious. I too have a live edge coffee table. So I think the rest of the house looks nice as well given the previous owners' tastes.

We needed to stop asking about the meaning of life, and instead to think of ourselves as those who were being questioned by life – daily and hourly. Our answer must consist not in talk and meditation, but in right action and in right conduct. Life ultimately means taking the responsibility to find the right answer to its problems and to fulfill the tasks which it constantly sets for each individual." ^^^WINNER! She said they look nice, but could she put some fake plants on top? I don’t have a problem with that.

A college friend’s dad had a pair with Heresys for surrounds, McIntosh amps, and I can’t remember what the fancy processor was in the late 80s. I knew I wanted a pair, but would have to wait for a house with the right room. I owned one house before the current house (25 years in the current one), both with open floor plans and no corners.

Now I just have find a pair of used AK6s or AK7s.

I still drive a 2012 Honda Odyssey, but I’m gonna have a killer stereo.

braillediver, I know that amp. Well, not THAT amp - but I do have the cronus magnum 3.

Trapper, Congrats on getting your wife's approval!!

For my tastes, I'd be asking for Martin Logan electrostatics.

That looks very much like my old TEAC reel-to-reel. It's sitting in the basement waiting for me to find a way to get it working again. I would love for that to happen; I have some old tapes that are very special and no way to play them.
