Thank you for stating all of this. With all of Trump’s rhetoric I must admit that I was very slow to pick up on Trump’s end goal which is to check Chinese expansion on the Western hemisphere.

It is a simple matter for China’s economy of 1.4 billion slaves to economically crush Greenland’s population of 62,000 or Canada’s population of 42 million.

Trump can’t just overtly state his goal is to stop Chinese expansion. So he needs to throw every single distraction at the lamestream media while he works his plan.

A) I suspect in a fair election, if we offered Greenland the same status as PR, they would go for it.

So would Diego Garcia, most likely.

It’s an existing tool, and we should take advantage of it.

B) Actual “conquest” of Greenland is BS. We can buy it from DK/the local populace, if needed. (The War Party would hate it, but $114B would pay each Greenlander $2MM. Pair that with an offer of a green card, and, of course, the option to remain citizens of DK instead, if they chose, and I think it would go over pretty well.)

Agreed. There are plenty of interim diplomatic/economic levers we can utilize to try to prevent that, if it even gets that far, rather than just jumping to an outright preemptive invasion of a friendly nation.
