It was a good game for about a quarter and a half. Smith is killing OSU.

Alabama took it to them. That Smith seems like a pretty swell fella.

I will say that Ohio State did not roll over and play dead. They played with heart. Nothing to be ashamed off for loosing. Sorry for the defensive Bama player disqualified for targeting the offensive Ohio state player. But the rules are the rules especially this one for players safety. ................................... drill sgt.

The targeting rule protects both defensive and offensive players and is almost universally fairly utilized. Even though the Alabama player helmet crown wasn't a direct shot at the Ohio player's helmet and was somewhat grazing, he shouldn't be applying hits with that head position. They teach face forward in Pop Warner.

Indeed a valiant effort by Ohio State, but they faced a juggernaut. Congratulations Saban and Alabama on a powerful well coached team and National Championship. Probably one of the best teams ever in college football.

Ohio State should be able to recover from this loss since it is happening so early in their season.

Turns out the buckeyes aren’t who they thought they were that’s for sure....even in mid-season form.

Looked like a middle of the road SEC team to me.

After that beat down, maybe we can stop with the “The” part of Ohio State University? Doesn’t seem like they’ve earned that special distinction for the time being.

Wonder how OSU will be ranked. Certainly higher than Dabo suggested. I have to say the old Woody Hayes playbook of three yards and a cloud of dust is gone. Hays certainly was more colorful than Day who looks more like a corporate exec.

This Alabama may be the best team I have ever watched. I enjoy watching a well coached team that plays as a team - no showboating, chest pounding and crap like that. Incredible performance.

My neighbors are both Steeler fans and Ohio fans. I better stay away for a few days.

Agree on the targeting, I hate the call but they at least get it right most of the time with the review. He clearly dipped and led with the crown, so no choice on the flag or ejection. I know it sucked for the kid, but he had a classy statement today:

You might want to do some research into how many people didn’t start for tOSU before making such an ignorant statement. Not to mention, Fields couldn’t make all his throws and wasn’t running the option with his injuries from the Clemson game. It was obvious to anyone who is more than just a casual spectator.

Congrats to Alabama! Their players as usual are much more classy than their fans.
