WSJ Writer Has Absolute Blast Shredding Ocasio-Cortez's Idiotic Green New Deal

Kimberly Strassel is the Potomac Watch columnist for the Wall Street Journal editorial page, and she has a nifty knack for cutting through all the BS and simply telling it like it is.

She did just that for her 200,000+ followers on Thursday after Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, a Democratic Socialist from New York, released a preposterous 10-year plan called the "Green New Deal" to do away with airplanes, eliminate "farting cows," end the use of fossil fuels, overhaul every building in America, and provide taxpayer cash even to those "unwilling" to work, among a slew of other absurd pies in the sky.

Strassel teed it all up by saying the document, written like a grade-school wish list, could have easily been a plant from wily Republicans. "By the end of the Green New Deal resolution (and accompanying fact sheet) I was laughing so hard I nearly cried," Strassel wrote on Twitter. "If a bunch of GOPers plotted to forge a fake Democratic bill showing how bonkers the party is, they could not have done a better job. It is beautiful."

This isn't just AOC. Markey from MA is pushing this also. I wouldn't be surprised if it cam out of his office.

A "grade-school wish list"- that's a perfect decription of this bill. I went and found the 14 page PDF of it online and skimmed it myself. Y'know, if just writing down a bunch of words made them true, we'd all be kings.

Truly and without any exaggeration, all of this demonstrates naivety, ignorance and foolishness on the part of the Democrats, on a grand scale. This is no exaggeration whatsoever. It's incredibe- truly, incredible- to behold. This idiotic child is going to Pied Piper the Democratic party into an indefensible position. There is simply no way to implement the fantasies of Ms. Macarena, but the Democrats are getting on board with it. They should be mocked- publicly and endlessly. They have earned it.

Then along comes Alexandra! Health care? Free Medicare for all! College loans? Free college for everybody! Welfare programs? Free money to everybody who can't-- or doesn't want to-- work! Taxes? Tax the rich at 90%. Fossil fuels? No more fossil fuels!

As I said earlier, lay this insanity at the doorstep of the entire Democratic Party NOW. Don’t wait for 2020 to roll around, start hanging the Cortez albatross around their collective necks. They will either be forced to support her or admit that they too see her as a childish crackpot and swat her down. Nancy P all but set the stage with her insult about the “green new deal” and leaving the little princess off of the climate change committee.
