Glorious SPAM! |
Feeling nostalgic tonight Judging by my crappy 'stash I peg this as November late 90's. Steele Knight out in the 29. Fixin' tanks. But the best thing about the Corps? The boys still did it. Any clime and place. About 100 klicks north of Camp Leatherneck, Helmand Province AFG, 2012. Semper Fi. Flag Tank Since it was just Veterans Day I figured I’d describe the pic with the tank with a flag. I took that on on 11 November 2012. That was the skipper’s tiger. He went on patrol that morning and he hit a little toe popper. Lost the #5 and 6 road arms and a few skirts. We pulled it into the maintenance area to “NASCAR” it but smelled fuel. Had to pull the power pack and check the fuel cell. Blast caused a leak on the pump gasket. Got it fixed and the pack back in. Ready for patrol In the AM. I like that pic and it is the only one I have hanging in my home. We had just pulled the pack and took a break. I went back to my hooch to eat and when I came back someone had raised the flags on the gun tube. That’s America. Happy 246th Marines. This message has been edited. Last edited by: mbinky, | |||
