This young man is from the same general area where I was born and raised. I can't help but think maybe a relative of mine knew him. I went to a funeral for a sailor killed on December 7, 1941 at the same cemetery a couple of years ago. I am so glad people are still working to identify remains.

My relatives did indeed know the young SSGT Gregg.

I went to the funeral on Monday and got a giant surprise on Tuesday. ALL of my relatives on my dad's side of the family knew him because he was their COUSIN!! SSGT Gregg's mother and my grandmother were sisters.

He and my dad entered the Army at the same or about the same time. Both were Staff Sergeants and both were at the Battle of The Bulge. To the best of my knowledge, my dad never mentioned him.

I am so glad I went to the funeral.
